More dragonflies
Well, damselflies, to be precise.
This one I saw yesterday is a white-legged damselfly aka blue featherleg (Platycnemis pennipes), blauwe breedscheenjuffer in Dutch.
"Breedscheen" translates as "broad shin", referring to one of the unusual features of this species:
Olympus Stylus 1s, 300mm, ISO200, f5.6, 1/125s
Portrait shot from up close, note the focal length, if such things interest you:
Olympus Stylus 1s, 42mm, ISO200, f5.6, 1/160s
This one was also sitting close by; it could be a female or young male of the same species, but I am not sure:
Olympus Stylus 1s, 300mm, ISO200, f5.6, 1/250s
Thanks for watching!
Taken at 42mm? Did you shake hands? :D
I have some at 28mm 8-P.
I suppose that from their perspective, it's like the Hubble telescope taking their picture. You might have a lot of portrait shots of terrified insects and not even realize it :)
last one's a female - am sure :)
my very 2nd or 3rd post was about it -
Beautiful..
I can't get enough of those dragonflies .....

Looks like an azure damselfly (Coenagrion puella), but I'm not sure.
