First butterflies

I have been looking out for the first butterflies to appear. As was mentioned in a conversation with @haphazard-hstead, the first to appear in The Netherlands is usually the brimstone (Gonepteryx rhamni). They are long-lived and they hibernate, often appearing very early in the year on sunny days.

Alas, no luck in finding one yet, but rather than leaving it at that, here are some pictures of brimstones I prepared earlier. The yellow one is the male, the greener one is the female:
