One happening in Ras Mohammed

in #photography7 years ago (edited)

If anyone does not know Ras Muhammad is a national park south of Sharm El Sheikh, which includes a dozen dive sites. Among them there is also Shark-Yolanda, one of the most famous in all of Egypt. The name consists of two words - Shark (shark) is the name of the reef and Yolanda name of the ship sunken here once. In fact, every visit to Ras Mohammed begins with the immersion on this site. Why is it so popular? For example, in the summer, huge flocks of snappers and jacks gather here. Here from time to time you can see the shadow of a shark floating in the distance or even marlin. Turtles, Napoleons and beautiful walled corals.

In fact, because of the descending currents, most groups fly through the most interesting place in a few minutes. Those who later try to swim against the current very quickly eat up all the air. The rest is not the greater part of the diving in the area of Yolanda's wreck in the toilets scattered over the sand (the ship was carrying a load of plumbing).

And how much I remember diving here is a kind of lottery with inflated expectations. This is not a place where you can lag far behind the group and you have to at least not lose sight of them. Often this leads to the fact that you need to swim away from beautiful and interesting places, which of course can not please.

This time it started almost the same way. A group flying downstream. Behind them at a decent distance is a videographer. Well, and after him, at about the same distance I am. We must swim for all and almost no time. I can barely distinguish dark shadows and the air rising to the surface. And it was at this moment, apparently, so as not to be sad, the sea made me a small gift.

After all, he, the sea, do not mind) A blue shark came to me from the blue. Not as usual far on the verge of visibility, but directly to me. Allows you to make a couple of frames and, making sure that everything is good, sharply went to the depth. It was so unexpected and nice) No, it's not that I have never seen or filmed such sharks near. And these photos by themselves do not represent anything. But it's not for me to find some connection with the sea, which has changed the attitude towards what is happening - I just started to have fun.

In spite of everything, the Caspian Sea remains one of my favorites. And I am very sad about the current situation with the ban on flights from Russia to Egypt. I hope that this year it will finally be resolved. And I again can fly there with my family.
