I got a new camera!
My interest in photography has been growing recently, and I finally decided to purchase a DSLR of my own. I wanted to get a reasonable mid-range camera, and ended up going with the Canon EOS Rebel T7i. However, going from point-and-shoot photography to using a DSLR... is... somewhat daunting, to say the least.
I do plan on doing some research and reading some tutorials soon, but I was excited to test the camera out, so even though I really haven't the slightest clue what I'm doing, I tried taking a few photos with different ISO settings.
The above photo was taken with ISO 3200, and the one below was taken with ISO 6400.
Just for comparison, I took a similar shot with ISO 3200 again:
Hmm. Coming from a completely amateurish perspective... I do think the brighter one looks a bit better. The lighting in my room isn't very good to begin with, so I don't think I could improve the appearance of this photograph any more by just tweaking the ISO.
Anyway, if any of my kind readers have any beginners' photography resources (webpages, videos, etc.) to share, I would be very grateful! I mainly want to take photographs of nature and food, and I'm thinking about purchasing a macro lens after I get more comfortable with my current one, which is a 18-135mm.

Yay! That's exciting to know @meliorish. 😄 I do think as well the first one looks better as it was I think just the right brightness. I don't know anything though about photograhy or taking with the right angles. Maybe there are some quick tutorials on YouTube? 🤔 But more photos for us to enjoy from the new camera is exciting!
It is exciting! But, I'm unfortunately swamped with schoolwork, so it may be a while before I manage to post anything. I'll probably look on Youtube when I have some time to spare, though.

Thank you for your kind words! I'm really glad you think so, I didn't think the photos were very good at first... but I thought I'd post them anyway, just to document the learning process.
