Let me get this out of the way first: I am an Instagram junky, ok?

I’ve been posting to the platform for over 5 years now - almost on a daily basis. I have multiple accounts, I use Story…the whole bit. It’s really just a channel for my photography content, which has moved from hobby to semi-pro (believe it or not, people have paid me for my camera work!) over the last 15 years. But it’s so much more, truly a network from which I have learned about a number of subjects.

So I am very pleased to have found Steepshot, a Steem-rewarding photosharing app that functions like Instagram but runs on the Steem blockchain. It adds to the ecosystem’s robust offerings which include Utopian (a Github-like community) and D.tube (a YouTube-like video platform), as well as others.

If you already use Steemit, you can sign right up without any approval process (Note: the QR scanner didn’t work in the iOS app for me). It is particularly incredible that Steepshot was released 3 months ago, beating the much hyped Appics team’s offering to market which is going to be a Steem Network dApp that utilizes its own Smart Media Token (SMT) for content monetization.

A few recommendations:

Would like to see estimated Steem payout like DTube does

Obviously would be great to be able to edit/process photos in the app like Instagram as well

@apolymask you should check out this app if you haven't already. I've started using it as my channel to go from Instagram to Steemit. It auto posts the content to both

Isn't it a mobile app? I'm not using my phone with steemit for the time being. Otherwise I would try it and have been aware of it for a while, I was going to try it but.. I just don't really want to use my phone with steemit since the chances of getting hacked are much greater based on my understanding. Looks like a dope app if you're not worried about any of that.

It only uses your private posting key to log in, post, and interact - but it also has a web version if you'd feel more comfortable with that instead of using your phone.

Ah they do have a web version..? Hmm.. Maybe I'll look into it! That would probably give me a reason to post all my photography again, heh. Which would be good to make some extra cash, though.. I'd just love to have a sort of gallery people can scroll though like instagram.. I think that'd be important! Can you link me to the web version?

There are version differences between the mobile and web: primarily that only one picture can be loaded up per post on Web versus the options to load an album/carousel on the mobile app.

I've been using Steemit as a new outlet for my Instagram content since I started, being able to use Steepshot makes it a more direct process to do that.

@juliank you might find this app useful as well - particularly given the community you've built here on Steemit

@steepshot please let me know if this is accurate or if there are any corrections that I should make - thanks!

Thank you very much for your review!
Appreciate it.

My pleasure - I'll be posting it around to help get the word out. It's part of my content release order now. Looking forward to see what other developments you make. Thanks for putting in the effort
