Motel erotica w/ Midnight Bixton!

Hey, Steemit! Good news. I survived the Polar Vortex. My chances of survival were diminished by a flu that came out of no where. At one point, my temperature was over 103°. @vermillionfox was a great caretaker, and as the temperatures outside reached -30°, we decided the only logical thing to do was watch movies. In the last 24 hours, we watched the Lord of the Rings trilogy. @guthrie’s ability to watch these films back to back […and still enjoy them] really spoke to the pride of my nerd father heart. He definitely inherited the geek gene.

New work to share! I travel to Las Vegas. Once in the spring for the Viva Las Vegas Rockabilly Weekend, and once in the summer or fall. During my 2018 summer trip throughout the west coast, I was contacted my a prominent name in the Suicide Girl. Midnight Bixton, or @aybabymidnight, on Instagram. I’d been following her for a couple of years, secretly hoping one day our paths would cross. Through Instagram, we did make plans that coincided with my dates in Vegas, and just like that, it was set on the calendar.

Midnight, or Bixton as she’s known in the Suicide Girls world, sent me photos to a unique hotel off the Vegas strip. Red tiled walls and a massive bed. Many of the hotel rooms in Vegas look the same, and this was distinctly different. Once I arrived, it lived up the expectations. The I immediately began accessing the surrounding for possibilities. Midnight brought several Instax cameras and coffee table books with hotel fetish photography. All at once, it came together. I closed the blinds, trying to make the room as dark as possible.

Our concept became an ode to this motel fetish genre. The Instax cameras were just one of Midnight’s signatures. She always brings them along, but in this particular moment, they were part of our collaboration. Combining the dark mood of the hotel room, the low light of the desk lamps and the sheer sultriness of taking lewd photos with Insax cameras; everything fit together. It just worked. Our check out came and in just an hour, we made these memorable images, still some of my favorites of 2018.
