Have You Ever Been in Zagreb (Croatia)?
As you probably know, Zagreb is the capital and the largest city of Croatia, and my hometown. I've picked just a few photos to show you some well-known buildings and popular places.
The Croatian National Theatre (a theatre, opera and ballet house) is located in the Republic of Croatia Square:
The Museum of Arts and Crafts, located in the Republic of Croatia Square, is one of the leading cultural institutions in Croatia, founded in 1880:
Academy of Music, a part of downtown where modern meets old architecture, is located nearby the Croatian National Theatre:
Ilica is the longest street and also the main shopping street in Zagreb downtown:

Art Pavilion is an art gallery, located close to the Zagreb Central Station:
Zagreb Funicular connects downtown to the Upper Town, an old part of the city:

OMG! Soooo beautiful! I totally love these pix, Old World arch and stuff! I've spent some time there during my days of Euro travels years ago; architecturally, there's no difference between Zagreb and Vienna, (as far as the Old Towns, of course; naturally, since historically, Croatia was part of Austrian Empire, the influence was/is inevitable). And it looks so well maintained, which is fantastic - it would be a shame to let the teeth of time eat the history out...
Aww thanks so much for your wonderful comment! I'm so glad you like these photos 😊 Yes, the strict center is especially well maintained, as it is the heart of Zagreb. You're right, the historical part of the town was built under a significant Viennese/Austrian elegant, classic architectural influence.
This central part of the city, including the old Upper Town, is the most popular tourist attraction area, which makes Zagreb one of the most visited places in Croatia...
