Picture Stories #239 - Dams & Mountains

in #photography6 years ago (edited)

Dams are often man-made structures while mountains are natural structures. Yet both happen to be massive in size and surprisingly can often be seen in each other's vicinity. I clicked these pictures on a road trip and it's always fun to encounter such scenes while one is travelling.

Dams often come in various sizes, and I've seen really big ones and some smaller ones too. But I find the biggest dams to be the most fascinating considering the massive amounts of water they hold and the enormous effort that goes into constructing them

Did you visit a dam recently?

Thank you for reading!

We also have a water dam here but I haven't visited it for a long time, and now there really isn't any water in it because in a few weeks there was no rain so I had no interest in visiting it.

And now I hope there is no rain falling because we here will start harvesting in the fields so we need to keep the fields dry so that it is easy when working and keeping the rice dry.

The architects who planning such construction have really had job, they need to be sure that it will be able to stand the amount of water so that the population living in neighborhood are safe. I was always impressed with dams. The pictures you posted showing nice green mountains and the construction looks so tiny in compare to mountians :)

yes, it always fascinates me how man can create such a huge structure - and it will last for ages! haha yes, in front of nature everything is small

Oh yes. I love to visit waterbodies. Recently have not visited any dam but we have natural waterbodies surrounded our city, we used to visit frequently.

ah that is great, hope you get to visit soon :)
