Macro: Trumpet Vine / Amerikanische Klettertrompete (Campsis radicans)

in #photography5 years ago

I have never seen a plant with such flowers before. It grows in the garden of the hotel in Lower Austria, where we stayed last weekend.

Eine Pflanze mit solchen Blüten habe ich vorher noch nie gesehen gehabt. Sie wächst im Garten des Hotels in Niederösterreich, in welchem wir letztes Wochenende genächtigt haben.

The home of the Campsis radicans is the East of North America. It was introduced to Europe in the 17th century as a decorative tree.

As a climber, it reaches a height of up to 12 meters (39 feet). If she finds no support to grow in height, then it spreads to the floor.

Right, it was my first time that I have noticed that plant too, although my wife said, that she has seen it before ;)
Thank you very much for your comment, @akhimoni 😊

I don't know, if it's unique, but I haven't seen it before ... or I just haven't noticed it ;)
Thank you very much for your comment, @manorvillemike 😊

50000 sounds good - thank you for informing me, @steemitboard, I appreciate your service 😊

I don't think I have ever seen it either but how beautiful it is

... or you are like me, and you just haven't noticed it, because my wife said, she has seen it sometimes before ;)

Unfortunately, most of the blossoms have already withered or didn't flowered yet, so this photo is the only one, which was nice enough to post. That's a weird plant somehow - thank you, that you like it anyway 😊

you could well be right you know I am terrible with flowers LOL, Most of the flowers here are starting to fade away here, I was planning on a short afternoon stroll today to look for any remaining flowers, but my Knee is playing up this afternoon so I am taking it easy

You say "afternoon" and I am going to bed ;) lol

I am terrible with flowers too. First I thought, these were the same flowers as we have on our balcony, but they are completely different, although the ones on our balcony look a bit like trumpets too :)
Here the flowers are fading away too, and you have to search for still nice looking ones.

Yes, if your knee hurts then take it easy. It's better to take it easy one day, than to lay down for a few days, because you didn't.

PS: I didn't see any birds this afternoon ;)

LOl I just said you must be about to call iit a night in a reply to another comment
Sorry you did not see any birds, and I am being sensible today with my knee and hopefully it will be fine in the morning for another walk :)

Yes, you will be fine today, and I will get a deer, because I am waiting here while thousands of midges stab me. I am wet up to my knees, because I had to walk through wet grass ... I earn to see a deer 😁🦌

Ohhyes you for sure deserve to see a deer,

Yes, but the deer didn't know that I was there ;) lol

Nice and bright red flowers! They are long like trumpets! But they cannot make music!
Perhaps small insects may be able to blow these flowers!

No, unfortunately they don't make music - would be nice to wake up in the morning, and insects would blow these flowers to make some music, but because the flowers are rather big, it would need rather big insects, like bumblebees 😉

Thank you for your nice and funny comment, dear @kaminchan 😊

Thank you very much, @shuvo35 😊

Highly unusual sir johannpiber, good eye! You stay at a hotel when you go visit your niece? You are not allowed to stay at her house?

No, my friend, she does not like me - I have to sleep somewhere else ;) lol

They are repairing their house and have also to sleep somewhere else. Fortunately my niece's parents-in-law live in the near, so they can sleep there. We meet then in this house.

Oh, ok, lol! Well you never know. What happened to their house, is that from a mud slide that you mentioned?

No, they live a few hundred kilometres away, and the area there is too flat for mud slides 😉

The house is old and needs new windows and a new roof, and they add more rooms and so.

Oh ok, there's that Steemit Fog popping up again! lol.

Haha lol :)))

Great flowers for a trellis! We have some here that are different than this one but really nice :)

You are certainly right, Ross, where I have found this one, there is a high and long trellis between a footpath and the lawn.
Thanks a lot, that you like it, have a great day and weekend 😊
