Buzzard / Mäusebussard

in #photography5 years ago

During my walk last Saturday, I heard loud calls from birds of prey in the forest. After a short search, I saw the two big birds.

Während meines Spazierganges letzten Samstag habe ich laute Rufe von Raubvögeln im Wald gehört. Nach einer kurzen Suche habe ich die beiden großen Vögel gesehen.

Buzzard / Mäusebussard

One of the two flew back and forth between the trees, and unfortunately hid to rest.

Einer der beiden ist zwischen den Bäumen hin und her geflogen, und hat sich zum Ausrasten leider versteckt.

The other, a buzzard, sat in the top of a conifer, watched the other bird, and occasionally called it.

Der andere, ein Mäusebussard, ist im Wipfel eines Nadelbaumes gesessen, hat den anderen Vogel beobachtet und hin und wieder gerufen.

Keeping the heavy lens steady and nearly vertical up to the bird, was not that easy, but being the first "bird of prey" photos, I'm quite satisfied - the next photos can only get better ;)

Thank you very much Pryde, I was really surprised myself, that a few of the many shots have come out sharp enough to post them :)

Howdy sir johannpiber! those are REALLY good shots there! Wow, big birds of prey, quite magnificent. You did good. You might have to work out your wrists and arms to be able to hold the big lens longer though. lol. Great job sir!

Thank you so much @janton 😊
My arms are already stronger after a few days using the lens 😉
This lens is really a big difference to all lenses I had before, but I will not give up and practise using it as often as I can.

Howdy again sir johannpiber! What about that monopod, are you going to carry that thing around with you? Those things collapse into smaller sizes right?

That monopod, which was made from one special leg of my tripod, was not so good. It was not high enough, and not very stable. I will have to get a dedicated monopod.
Yes, you can make it smaller, just like the legs of a tripod 😁

Oh, I get it...well, so you have ordered a regular monopod or do you have to get permission from your Boss? (like me) lol.

I have not ordered one yet, because more important to me was a working computer today ... and I have to practise to hand hold the camera anyway ;)
I don't ask her, because she says always "no" lol

lol! so you just go ahead and order things and she can order things with her money!

That's it 😄 and sometimes I pay her things, and sometimes she pays mine. We don't think so much about money, unfortunately 🙃

WOW a bird of prey int he wild and I think you did brilliant with the heavy Lens I love those shots

Thank you JJ, I shot in burst mode, and a few photos came out sharp enough :)
One day before I have seen another kind of a bird of prey, but this one was far to far away (about 370 m / 1,200 ft, if Google measures right) - a Harrier

Burst mode is handy I bet for birding I seldom use it but maybe I should with some other types of shots
That’s a cool shit if the harrier from that distance

Yes, when the object moves fast, then I like to shoot as many shots as possible, because at least one should be sharp ;)

Minutes before the bird was flying in circles over my head, but I had no chance to photograph it. Unfortunately, the harrier (I think, it was one) flew then away to this tree far away, although there were trees right beside me too ;)

Maybe next time you see it will pick a tree closer and within range of the lens 👍😎👍

Its always interesting when heard the bird calls and take a short search up there and voila

Right, @kheys, I have heards them a while before I actually got close enough to see the one on top of the tree. He was so nice to sit still for a few photos, and the other one just flew around :)

She likes to be photographed! Birds calls..trees..thats sweet thing expected in the forest. Such a good day you had, i wait for your next post!

Thank you again for your nice comment, @kheys :)
I have made a post on every single day for the last months. This will be not so easy in the summer months, but I will try :)

Beautiful photograph my friend..

Thank you very much my friend @tussar11 😄
