I traveled trough there before the wall came down. Drove through East Germany, Poland, The Czech and Slovak State(Czechoslovakia), Romania, Bulgaria, and what was then Yugoslavia. Several times. It was very fun! I am certain that it was instrumental in forming my beliefs.
