GRANDPA'S BURIAL CEREMONY ENDED IN PHOTO SHOOT

in #photography6 years ago (edited)

So I finally travelled for my late Grandfather's burial yesterday, @abigail-dantes u need to see this. And I thank God for a blissful burial ceremony. Before I proceed, lemme give a brief synopsis on what CEREMONY is all about.

Ceremony is:- "an official gathering to celebrate, commemorate or maybe mark some event"
[Source](English dictionary)

Ceremony brings long distant relations back home to re-unite with home based relations. What a wonderful thing.

I'm saying this because i have witnessed what ceremony has done. Just take a look at this:

I have so many relations and I know only a few, like out of about 100% of my relations, I know only 20%, can u imagine?

The only time I get to meet most of them is when there is a ceremony, be it wedding, burial, dedication, birthday etc.

Yesterday, while many of us were crying and shouting over our departed PAPA, we were reminded by the pastor who gave the sermon that "its God who gives and takes" and we should give him thanks in all things.

Then I remembered this quote "The more death, the more birth. People are entering, others are exiting. The cry of a baby, the mourning of others. When others cry, the other are laughing and making merry. The world is mingled with sadness, joy, happiness, anger, wealth, poverty, etc." By
Michael Bassey Johnson.
Such is life.

Shortly after the sermon, burial, and presenting of condolence gifts by inlaws, friends and well wishers, the main celebration began, and I was like, 'were these not the people that were crying and shouting few hours ago when Grandpa was being placed in the casket?' Men, everybody was 'jollificating' and being that me, I don't dull when it comes to merrymaking, I quickly joined the 'queue'.

While the celebration was going on, I gathered some of my relatives including siblings and cousins and then took memorable pictures with them.

Pictures are awesome because they capture moments that may never be recreated again.

Please relax and enjoy my collection.
