A Postcard from Lahti #2

in #photography7 years ago (edited)

Good night guys!

Haha, I've been watching that londoner @tricki streaming on DLive for maybe two or three hours now, and had fun chatting there. It's one of the coolest things I've seen on Steem yet. Youtubers finally finding out about Steem and all the other services around it. I wish others will join eventually.

Eh, but this was not what I came here to rant about. I was actually going to put up the next postcard. So here it is:

Fazer Mylly

Camera body: Canon EOS 550D
Lens: EF 75-300mm ƒ/4-5.6
Focal length: 130mm
Aperture: ƒ/6.3
Exposure: 1/500 s
ISO: Dual-ISO 100+200

Fazer Mylly (map) is the landmark bakery, one of the first big things you'll see if you ever drive on Hämeentie towards Lahti from West, the direction of Tampere (where @MarkkuJantunen is originally from).

They make a lot of the breads you'll find in the stores here in Lahti. :)

But it's late. I'll be off now and go to bed. Nighty night guys, and see you tomorrow!

I like it is a beautiful sunset

And I imagine that it must be a huge bakery to supply so many people: P

That's a beautiful looking sky. Did you edit it or is that real?

Very real, only edit I really had to do was tone the brightness down a bit in the middle. He light was a bit too harsh, but otherwise it was perfect. :)

Yes, Until I moved to Finland I thought everything about pictures from Finland were touched/edited a bit , but when I take pictures most of the pictures doesnt need any editing too (unless a bit of bad weather or whatever minor problems might be) cool stuff Jaro xx

Hmm not sure I've ever seen the sky look that colour. It looks like you got this picture right befor the sun completely set.

beautiful view. It looks like it was towards the evening you took this photo because the sun looks like it is setting.

@gamer00,
Wow this is truly amazing sunset! It seems to be a huge bakery! That would be a great scenery and thanks for sharing this amazing experience with us!

Cheers~

Yo bro Thank you for the nice words man! And thanks for joining me in today's stream! Also, keep up with the photography you're doing great!

Oh yeah Ive been active on YT for ages and with the recent changes YT forced on people, many YTers are looking for alternative places to try.

When youtubers discover the potential of steemit they will forget youtube. Excellent photo friend.

Greetings and rest, I predict for tomorrow a happy day, and you can recharge energies.
Excellent picture postcard. I think that in the picture of the super moon you mention them are photos type postcard

Wonderful picture.. the sunset sight is always mesmerising.. makes me want to visit Lahti..

@gamer00 you are such a wonderful photographer. I recently made a post about steepshot and mentioned you there. I dont know if you know about the platform or not but you might want to check it out.

I dont mean to sound disrespectful here by advertising my own post in the comment section of your post. I also know that you take things really seriously when someone tries to divert your attention towards their own post by commenting on yours.

Truth be told, this isnt an advertisement at all. I genuinely thought that being a professional photographer, you would be interested in using steem powered platform that is intended for photo-sharing.

Best wishes..

I am grateful for the compliments. Thank you!

Yea I understand what you are getting at, it'd probably be a good thing too. It's just that like so many others, Twitter users, Youtubers, Facebook users... it seems difficult to leave said platforms when you have created a presence there.

But hey I will check out Steepshot. It wasn't much when I last tried it (some time last year), but I guess it might have taken strides when I've not been looking.

There are some if's though. Since I haven't checked yet I can't be sure what they offer, but for me it is imperative though that I can choose a specific Creative Commons license for my photos. I've done that for my Flickr photos, and I would be doing so publishing on any other service. The second question is the picture size and scaling issue. How well does it handle full-size images, and are there options to choose a smaller copy for publishing on the blog while still having the full-size original version online too.

I'll check on them and make my decision to "jump ship" based on those. For now, Flickr has proven itself somewhat adequate for my needs. :)

But based on the other services I've seen pop up around Steem, I am hopeful...

Thanks for your suggestion!

Thank you brother for the response. Sorry that it took me long enough to post a reply to this.

Your questions are valid and to be honest only a professional photographer such as yourself can see if steepshot addresses those concerns. Unfortunately i do not possess the equipment and knowledge to do so.

However i do agree that Flickr is an established platform and it would take a lot to perform the jump.
I am sure that a professional of your stature would look at all the variables before they cross over.

And thank you very much for the curation of my post. It really means a lot..

Much blessings

Did you edit this picture or how the hell did the sky look so orange?

And also do they sell something else besides bread in the bakery? Something like Berliininmunkki?

I didn't edit it much, I only tweaked the brightness of the center a tad because it was a bit overexposed.

I believe they make everything in that bakery. ;)

Oh well then the sunset looks really beautiful. And I asked because I want to know where to get the good stuff if I ever come to Lahti :D
