Time is an illusion?
WHAT IS TIME? ... AN ILLUSION?
On multiple occasions I have heard or read the phrase, "TIME IS AN ILLUSION", but, how much is true in that phrase. From my humble perception of reality, and making a simple hermeneutical analysis on that phrase, we realize that it only refers to the intangible facet of this conception. This facet, gives us the sensation, that in certain circumstances, the time seems to expand ... it is then, when the minutes and minutes seem eternal, or in the opposite case, when we are so absorbed in our daily routine and we do not give ourselves account of its passing and time is not going, "like water between your fingers". But, it is necessary to bear in mind, that when we refer to TIME, we are facing a conception that is handled in the axis of duality, so it is made up of two poles constituted self-referentially. Then, the other pole, would come to complement this conception, is its quantitative, measurable facet, because we must be clear, that unquestionably, time is the same for all and does not stop, does not wait for some and escapes others, the only it is, in its continuous flow, and we go hand in hand with it in our continuous existence, that existence, which does not allow us to be the same as in the previous moment.
That is why, in the three compositions photographs, that I share, whose theme is about how our work desks have changed, with the passing of the years, I try to show initially, that physical facet that shows us that time passes and inevitably brings changes. And, on the other hand, that allows to evoke, memory of past times, where unlike our busy current life, where the hours seem to fly, in those times of yesteryear, life was simpler and allowed us to take it to a rhythm less accelerated.
Now I just have to say goodbye to you, hoping that the photographic compositions that you build will be of your liking, as well as my humble reflections, around the concept of time.

I love your transition of photographs through time...As thinking beings we have created the concept of time (past, present and future). Other life on the planet are just living in the "here and now". Maybe that is what is meant about time being an illusion.

Yeah, time is an illusion. It is more than what we understand. You said it very correct our life style and way of living is changing over time. And over the year it will change more. This is a great read..Time truly "does not stop neither does it wait for man nor does time escape anyone.With the growing years so does our views and life changes.As time does not wait, so do we do not wait for time.Time gives us the liberty to walk down memory lane to give accountability to what our walk with it looks likes.Time can be our friend or enemy, depending on how we use it.
