Le Perle.. with blooms
She doesn't have an easy life with me. Too sunny spot, too rainy, repotting... poor thing. But she is handling it all and keeps blooming.
Just gotta love those lovely dusted bells.
Echeveria 'Perle von Nürnberg' because that is her full name is a lovely purple succulent. Always wanted one, now I have 3 :) Mom and two babies that grew form a leaf cutting.

And Bear's Paws in the background
Yep :) That is not a happy little bear... In process of recovering.
Recovering from what?
Not sure. Too much water I think. I had a bigger pot with a few plants potted together. In summer they were looking all lovely. But in winter I am guessing they were catching too much rain and the soil was too wet. The leaves started to yellow and almost all fell off. I put it separately in a smaller pot and I control the water now. Hope it will recover.
There are some South African succulents that grow in winter and can be watered but many of them do not like being cold and wet. This one is a summer grower and only ants water then. I'm glad you took action, it likes quite a bit of water, so don't be scared to water it in summer

Those are sure pretty succulent blooms @ewkaw!
I've always loved those kinds of plants, had many
in California where they grew better than here in
Alaska. The ones with the real bright yellow orange
little blooms like yours look so cool!
There are a few wild succulents here that do
winter over outside and thrive.
I really enjoy your photos! Wow to that
tomato also TGIFF! :-)
I think Sempervivums would be happy in Alaska. They can handle cold and snow. And they have super cute flowers too :)
