All the lovely Lichens | Te wszystkie piękne porosty
EN | PL |
---|---|
No, I did not forget about them. They are still my top favourite macro subjects. And they still amaze me every time I take a shot. Different shapes, colours and forms growing on different surfaces. Some will grow on trees, on stones, concrete, bricks.. anything really. And apparently they can grow on all 7 continents! Powerful little things. | Nie, nie zapomniałam o nich. Porosty nadale należą do moich ulubionych makro modeli. Za każdym razem zachwycają i zaskakują. Różne kształy, kolory rosnące w przeróżnych miejscach. Na drzewach, kamieniach, cememncie, cegłach.. na czym oppadnie. I ponoć dają sobie świetnie radę na wszystkich 7 kontynentach. |
There are those grey ones with flat heads, | Mamy zatem te z płaskimi główkami, |
---|
the ones that look like coral, | te co wyglądają jak koral, |
---|
and some like a hairy lettuce. | albo jak włochata sałata. |
---|
Some are gorgeous and orange, | Niektóre są przepięknie pomarańczowe, |
---|
other are yellow. | a inne są żółte |
---|
And some look like little cups. And hat is still not all types there are. I wish to catch them all (like Pokemons). It is personal now! | I jeszcze te co wyglądają jak kubeczki. A i to nie wszystko. Marzy mi sie dorwać je wszystkie (jak Pokemony). |

I think thats raindeer lichen, does it have red fruiting bodies?
Which one? I think they are all different.
But none had red fruit. You mean the Soldier Lichen? This is how I know them.. those are awesome! Haven't seem those yet.
I may be wrong but i think most of those are the same lichen. Yeah soldier lichen, that looks the same.
I think they look different because they are in different stages of growth.
That I dunno... maybe it is the same. Why the totally different colour though?
Either way, they all look cool! And all the forms are just amazing :)
@ewkaw
Depends how dried out the organism is. Lichen is a composite organism made of fungus plus bacteria. The fungus collects sunlight or nutrients from the bark and the bacteria stays dormant and feeds off the fungus till the fungus dries out, then becomes active and encapsulates it to keep the remaining moisture in to keep it alive... amazing really.
So yeah may be the same lichen, just on different hosts they are different colors due to their hydration and food habits.. im guessing, I may be way off.
It very much might be then. And they are pretty amazing!
I like that the look different. Makes photos more interesting ;)
Yeah they are cool, I did not encounter them till I moved to the South.
