London ~ My First Traditional English Meal, Buckingham Palace, and Harrods.
This first trip to England was like a homecoming in many ways. Ever since taking the 23andMe DNA test in 2014 and learning the results (most of my paternal line came from Warwickshire, England) I’ve realized that there may be a lot of truth to the theory of genetic memory. The more time I spend here, the more I believe the theory to be true. So many things I encountered seem strangely familiar even though I’ve never experienced them before.
My first authentic English meal (pictured in the slideshow below) was one of those instances. After a busy morning of sightseeing we found a nice pub and enjoyed a delicious traditional English meal - steak and mushroom pie, herbed peas, and mashed potatoes with a pint of ale. It was absolutely delicious, one of the best meals I’ve ever had.
Next in the slideshow are various pictures of Buckingham Palace. We first saw this on our Uber ride from the airport to the Airbnb. I was surprised by how close the palace was to the road. On television it looked like it sits substantially further back than it does in real life. On the walk to Harrods we passed beside the palace and realized there's probably close to ten acres of land walled off from the public behind the palace. That's one huge back yard!
Next in the slideshow is Harrods department store. We took a look around there and then stopped into the food hall for a cup of warm coffee and a slice of Russian honey cake. I think this trip as turned into as much of an eating tour as it's been a sightseeing tour.
I hope you’re enjoying these posts of our London trip. We have many more pictures to come!

While I do believe in the idea of genetic memory, when I visited Prague last year I could not feel any particular interest in the city, although I know some ancestors came from there... I was much more impressed with London... so maybe I inherited some memories of that place.
Have fun!
I've never been to Prague but it's on my list of places to visit. London is very impressive! It's amazingly clean and the public transit system is the most well organized of any city I've been to yet.
Hi @Eric, how are u? Wow ... your are a British descent. So now you are on vacation to your ancestral country. It must be a lot of fun to go to England, a country that is very defending its tradition. I was interested in Buckingham Palace. It's so beautiful. Does the royal family live there? I have enjoyed your video. I saw the food. It looks very delicious Thank u for the video, sir. Have a nice day.
Yes, my father's family immigrated to America in the late 1600's. The queen does live in that palace part of the year, I think. So glad you enjoyed the photos. Thank you!
@ericvancewalton, First of all it's exciting to read that this Trip made your faith more strong towards the Subject Of Genetics.
No matter we visit one place ever or not, if our Ancestors lived their then that memory definitely stored in our DNA.
Have more amazing times ahead. Stay blessed.

It makes sense that memories would be stored and passed on that way. It'll be interesting to see what science uncovers about it as the years progress. Thank you!
Welcome and that's true, it's really interesting to see how many wonderful or weird truth are hidden. Have a blessed time ahead.
Sounds like a fabulous trip! I haven't been to London. Keep the photos coming!

It certainly was fabulous. I would highly recommend visiting if you can. We were going to plan a side trip to Paris but I'm so glad we decided against it and spent our entire time in London. We still didn't see it all so we have a reason to go back. How's your trip going?
Awesome! I'm loving Switzerland. I also decided not to include Paris this time so it can be a more in-depth adventure on another trip.

I'm glad to hear it. Switzerland is on our list as well. I've heard it's an amazing (but expensive) place to call home.
Welcome home. :-)
Thank you!
Beautiful interesting photos. Probably really your ancestors from England, since everything seems familiar to you. I believe in it
I believe it too. I could see myself spending much more time in England!
Loving the fact that you're bringing the best of places, food and topography, amazing food as well, I'd love to see you talk about the food in the slide video I'd really love to know. You're having mad fun sir.
So glad you're enjoying it, man! It's been so much fun...the trip of a lifetime.
I heard London is full with cool and beautiful places
It definitely is!
