Up To The Mountain: Adventure To Mt. Ulahingan Sacred Mountain Tribe
Body aching, small scratches, sun burn, in return of a fulfilling adventure. This is my story of Mt. Ulahingan Sacred Mountain Adventure in Datu Salumay, Marilog District, Davao City, Philippines.
Dated on September 30, 2017. I was very excited beforehand when I received an invitation a week prior to the climb. This excitement caught my attention to prepare physically and mentally. My friend Pastor Alex said that at the peek it is around 3000+ ft above sea level.
It was a breath taking event reaching the peek of the mountain. I was surprise hearing that their ancestral domains reaches to 3600 hectares of mix flats and mountain treks.
Stop Over at Mapantaw View: Sea Of Cloud;
We had to travel around 2-3 hours from city proper to Marilog District. We started our day around 4 AM to reach our destination. The highlight of the travel, which also my first time to actually feel and see is "fog". 
In the middle of our trip, one of our friend who lives there, invited us to visit his house and drink some native coffee and it was deep coffee aroma. While overlooking sea of cloud and a crisp striking heat of the sun.
After few minutes of chat and sipping coffee, we went back to our trip. In some unreasonable angle, I forgot to take pictures.
We reached the area and start to cut tall grasses. The area will be our tent valley.
Roughly 2 hours of mowing, we start to build tents to see if how many tents can be build in the area.
Pastor Alex said, around 20-25 tents can be installed by climbers or hikers who will visit our station. 
The area is not yet finish. We still have to deal with tall grasses around the station, put some commercialize Carabao grass and installed a clean comfort room. Story is not end yet, please tune in for more next week. Thanks for reading it.

nice! more of a beach head compared to trekking mountains, but definitely wanna give it a try someday!
