Christmastime in NYC 2016 - [Part 3: In and Around The Tree]steemCreated with Sketch.

This is part three in this series on Christmastime in New York City 2016. Today I'll be sharing some of the images I captured in and around Rockefeller Center.

We stopped to see the 2016 Christmas Tree during daylight, then left to elevator up to the Top of the Rock Observation Deck for a very cool NYC sunset, stopped for dinner at Hurley's Saloon on West 48th Street, toured around Radio City Music Hall and Times Square, and then went back to see the Christmas Tree when it was dark.

This post showcases some photos I took while walking to and seeing the Christmas Tree during the day, and also a few shots of the Tree at night. Go figure but, for some reason (let's call it pilot error), I have only a few shots of the tree at night. I guess I have a lot to learn about night photography!

Some notes about this year's Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree:

Anyways, I hope you enjoy these moments and that it gives you a feel for the incredible spectacle that is unique to New York City at Christmastime.

Unique New York, Unique New York, try and say that three times fast!

It's quite a beautiful Christmas Tree, isn't it?

So glad I got to see the lights at night.....beautiful. Certainly puts me in the Christmas mood. So much christmas stuff there ....and people and cool gifts.

The Tree looked really nice at night, and I'm glad we decided to go back and revisit it! But it was so crowded that it was hard to get too close to it. I've never seen so many simultaneous selfies in my life ;-)

Love these shots! Looking forward to taking my kid in to see the tree when we're down on Long Island for Christmas this year. Though maybe we'll wait until she's a bit older.

If you haven't seen it yet, Bryant Park is always amazing during the season. Plus they've been restoring the facade of the NYPL and it's looking amazing. Probably a great place for some pictures!

If you

Thanks @beowulfoflegend. Yeah, it's challenging to spend an entire day in NYC when you're not used to it. But it's one of those things where, at the end of the day, you're glad you persevered!
