South African Wildlife
Having lived in South Africa most of my life, one of our favourite things to do was visit the Wildlife Game Parks. These Parks are spread all over the country, some are State-owned others are privately owned. Most of them have accommodations available for those that would like to spend a few days.
Some of the Wildlife Parks have the all wild cats as well, like lions cheetahs and leopards, so obviously getting out of the car is not an option unless you are in a fenced off area, and other parks which don't have any of the predators are just as nice because you can walk around the among the zebras, giraffes and buck.
But, having said that, caution is always advised, because we should never forget they are wild animals and they are unpredictable. Whichever way, its a really awesome experience when coming so close to these remarkable animals. Today I would like to share a few of the photos with you which I took many years ago on one of the trips. Please enjoy!

thank you so much I am so happy to be part of this wonderful team as well! @steemitbloggers
I love those studies in Patterns as illustrated by the Zebra shot. And the ostrich with a "low hair cut" is very cute.
I never knew you lived in South Africa @claudiaz.
thanks @abbiephoto. I grew up in South Africa, but have moved on since!
Walking around wild animals makes me nervous just to think about it..
hahaha, it can be intimidating, after all they are wild and unpredictable!
Great shots @claudiaz
I love elephants and I was lucky to spend a bit of time with them in Thailand. All the pics are great though, as usual!.
Gaz
thanks so much @cheese4ead. The African elephant is not quite as docile as the ones inThailand and India, so I prefer them far away!
Ah, ok. They seemed very soft and gentle in Thailand. So much intelligence and emotion behind those dark eyes. They truly are beautiful creatures.
We spent some time at conservation parks in Kanchanaburi and Chiang Mai which was wonderful. We were able to feed and bathe them and just spend some quality time around them. The staff really are doing some great work in both places.
the African elephant can also be tamed, however this is not customary. The ones in the wild......well, great caution is advised especially when the herd have young ones!
I guess that would be a big difference. The fact that the Thai elephants would be rescued from service and abuse whereas the african elephants are wild and free in the first place and probably come into contact with humans very little. I would love to experience the difference one day.
:) yes but no feeding and bathing them, only observe from a safe distance, hahaha. I hope your wish comes true!
Thanks very much. I hope so too.
I love the photo of the ostrich. He is looking at me like I just offended his wife! lol Wow such attitude! Thanks for sharing.
thanks @papacrusher, yes and they do have attitude believe me!
