Gloomy houses in old Samara

in #photography6 years ago (edited)

The streets of the old part of Samara are quiet but untidy. Here you can see many interesting houses with their unique architecture, beauty and wealth. But for the most part - the buildings have seen better times. Shabby houses here are no exception, but routine. On many of them you can see a sign - "Caution, possibly a collapse of the facade."

Before the World Cup 2018 this summer, they tried to put something in order, but limited themselves to tourist routes. The house that in the title photo - the mansion of the adviser Neronov - did not get into this route. Although the building is an object of cultural heritage of federal significance.

It is believed that the mansion was built in 1840, and its facade during this time has never been rebuilt. What can not be said about its interior. During its long life, the building was replaced by many owners.

They built a mansion designed by architects Telitsyn NG and Volkova LA. In 1895, SP Yakovlev becomes the new owner of the mansion, who places his typography in the house - “Printed AS Yakovlev”, as a result of which he changes the structure of the house a little - erects part of the second floor and builds a storeroom for his typography and binding.

The next owner is a hereditary prominent citizen of Samara, merchant P I Shikhobalov, and in 1905-1907 he demolished part of the buildings, connecting the apartment building with the former printing house. It was with him that the water supply system, sewage system was connected to the house, electric lighting was done.

In April 1918, this house was confiscated by the merchant, and in 1919 the building became municipal. The mansion is transferred to the Territorial District of the 34th Infantry Division. For a long time after the war, the editorial office of the newspaper Volga Military District "For the Motherland" was located in this mansion (now - "Soldier of the Fatherland")

There was a printing house in this room.

During the Great Patriotic War, this house was occupied by the family of I. Stalin, evacuated from Moscow. Svetlana Alliluyeva, Stalin's daughter, wrote in her book -

“Then, again, unexpectedly, we were assembled and sent to Kuibyshev: things were loaded into a special car for a long time ... Whether my father would go from Moscow was unknown; just in case we loaded and its library.

In Kuibyshev, we all were taken to a mansion on Pionerskaya Street, with a courtyard. There was a museum here. The house was hastily repaired, it smelled of paint, and in the corridors it looked like mice. With us came the entire home "retinue" - Alexandra Nikolaevna Nakashidze with all the cooks, attendants, guards, my uncle, Mikhail Nikitich Klimov, and the nurse. Vasily's first wife, a young, pregnant Galya, also traveled with us, and in October 1941 she gave birth to a son, Sasha, in Kuibyshev. Somehow all housed in a mansion. Only my grandfather wanted to stay in Tbilisi - he went there from Sochi and spent a great two years there.

Our house was full. I went to school in the ninth grade, we all listened to radio reports every day. The fall of 1941 was very disturbing ... ”

There is a version about this building. What some buildings made to the list of cultural heritage by the name of the first owner of a site of urban land, and other buildings made by the name of the builder of the stone house, others by the last owner of the house before the revolution. Because of this, there was confusion. So the nobleman Neronov was the first known owner of a wooden house at this place in the middle of the 19th century, and the house that we see now is the house of merchant P.I. Shikhobalov.

Now the building is empty and abandoned. In some rooms visible signs of repair began. It is interesting that some time ago, an old woman lived in one of the rooms - something like a watchman. Now it is not in place.

Interesting history. You can tell it was very grand at one time. Too bad someone was not able to take care of it.

In those days, yes - it was a very luxurious house in which respected and rich people lived.
And unfortunately we have a sad attitude to the heritage of history ...
