SUMMER ADVENTURES - episode 4 - TURQUOISE
Welcome to a strange land ...
... where the snails are floating in the air ...
... like some silly snail-shaped balloons ...
... a place with enigmatic, alien artworks ...
... or symbols ... drawn and engraved ...
... into the deep, surreal turquoise.
:D It's an agave plant,
And this post will continue as a little virtual expedition in search of some interesting details inside this universe in between green and blue.
The first creature, I encountered there ...
... was a spider ...
... a lovely small jumping spider, with a typically cute face.
This species can be found elsewhere on the rocky terrain on the coast, but it seems that especially likes the agave, I see a few of them on every plant.
Many snails find here ideal shade and shelter during the hours of the strong summer sun.
Most of them are small.
But in some hidden places near the bottom of the plant ...
... I saw a few bigger ones.
This little spider has a home in the hole on the leaf...
... and was very shy and difficult to photograph.
This other species ...
... made a home in the tunnel like space under the folded leaf.
Snails and spiders ...
... were the only inhabitants I saw.
And during the day they had nothing to do with each other, the snails hidden in their shells and spiders lethargic on their webs or in their dens.
But one day at dawn ...
... a strange contact has occurred ...
... a small snail that was crawling on the upper part of the leaf has fallen deep down ...
... and into the web ...
It looked like the snail was flying ...
... or floating inside some strange zero gravity field ...
It took some time before the spider showed some interest...
... but looked like he doesn't know what to do ...
... with that slimy thing ...
... and so he left the snail hanging there ...
Later the snail ...
... managed to somehow come to the border of the leaf ...
... dragging along some threads of the web ...
... and then ...
... after some hanging ...
... hm ... well ... after a lot of hanging, actually ...
... and some twirling ...
... the snail fell to the ground.
It was early morning ...
... beautifly fresh and quiet ...
... and the old agave looked very monumental.
I was standing there ...
... filing great ...
... and pretty uplifted ...
... by all the great little things that I saw ...
... watching the alchemy of the upcoming sun ...
... turning the turquoise into gold.
And now ...
... with some last few shots ...
... of spiders ...
... and snails ...
... and the great agave setting ...
... it's time ...
... to bring this post to an end.
That's it for today ...
... hope you can stand this much snails&spiders talk :)
Have a good day ...
... or night ...
... wherever on the planet you are.
As always in these posts on Steemit ...
... all the photographs ... and GIFs made from those photographs ... are my work ...
... yap :D
.... THE END ...

some really curious perspectives here and I don't think I've ever seen a snail with such acrobatic prowess before!
excellent, thanks @mathowl for sharing this in the curator-recommendations!
Thank you :) The snail was a big surprise for me too.

Grazie ! :)
Hurrah for the snail. I was on the edge of my seat!
:D Snails are great for building slow suspense.
I think there's magic in your camera :)
Can be :) It'has a bit messed up electronics and strange glitches that look like magic :D
The level of detail, the color change from photo to photo and the overall vibe is just simply amazing. Great job.
Thank you :) This agave place is very photogenic. It has a great combination of large empty turquoise surfaces and interesting little details, like snails, scars, and thorns. And the way the big leaves are organized on the plant makes beautiful light effects, interesting combinations of fully lit places and shadows, it's a bit like interior in a great piece of architecture.
Absolutely beautiful post, as always! I love the cool green/blue color scheme. The story with the little snail getting stuck in the spiderweb had me on the edge of my seat, hoping he would escape. I'm glad he did! And the little jumping spider does have a very cute face!
This thing with the snail really surprised me, was the first time I encountered this situation.
It was very dramatic!
