The bookshelf of a literature major
I've noticed a definite change in my book collection since declaring my major in writing and literature. My collection used to be full of almost exclusively genre fiction, like those by Tamora Pierce, J. K. Rowling, Christopher Paolini, J. R. R. Tolkien and more. I never thought I'd be the person to go out and by an anthology FOR FUN, but this was the year that I did just that.
Now that I'm graduating, I have the luxury of reading a genre fiction novel for the first time in what feels like ages. It's "Swan Song" by Robert R. McCammon, a science fiction/Cold War work, if anyone was wondering. It feels simultaneously strange and amazing to be indulging in that kind of writing again.
What about you? How have your reading tastes changed over the years? Feel free to leave book suggestions below!

Do I spy Raymond Carver on there? Awesome!
