Time rushing by
At the end of your life, you will never regret not having passed one more test,
not winning one more verdict or not closing one more deal.
You will regret time not spent with a husband,
a friend, a child, or a parent." - Barbara Bush
When I was younger time flowed slowly like a streamlet. When I was waiting for a special occasion (e.g. my birthday or Christmas) back them, time seemed to stand still. Now I am 30 years old time seems to rush by. I read about this phenomenon, the explanation seems to be really simple.
When you are young everything is new to you; everything is exciting. So your brain is working hard to get all the new stuff sorted. Things that you already know are less interesting for your brain, so is not spending much effort on them. When you are getting older, occasions, when your brains face something unexpected, are less frequent; routines are on the agenda.
Routines bore our brain, so he is kind of skipping them forward. And that's why time seems to pass by more quickly the older you get.
Does this sound weird to you? Or do you know this phenomenon too?
BTW: This picture is a longexposure I shot some years ago in London.

An excellent post! We always think that time will suffice. And then it ends)
:( yes, we should enjoy every sec remaining ;)
nice photography 👍👍👍
As one ages and gains experience, the less the same things will contain surprises than at a younger age. Also, as you said, routine may become a bigger part of life. We have a tendency to forget details to begin with and the better our subjective life experience becomes organized according to patterns we recognize, the more efficiently the brain compresses our memories. Hence the subjective feeling of speeding up of the flow of time.
