Windswept Sand Dunes of Death Valley, California

Sand dunes are shaped by a particular tool of erosion, wind. It's not rare to see them in action but it's rare to see them photographed. This day was particularly windy and you can really see the wind sweeping the sand all over the place in the Mesquite Dunes of Death Valley.

It was good for me because it provided respite from the hot sun and climate. Not so good for my camera because changing lenses proved to be quite a challenge without sand getting into the sensor.

Have you been to a sand dune?

Holy crap, the colours, this is amazing. Following you has definitely given me the wanderlust...

Location and camera settings are really perfect. Good Photography and nice post.

Brilliant shot! Reminds me of a place back home in Ladakh!

Cool

Looks like the 24mm is perfect for this setting. Did you apply HDR on the final output? Fantastic job overall. 👍

No HDR :) Single photos only. I do blended exposures only when there's too much contrast, like the sun being on the frame.

wery nice and unusual photos!.. and especially interesting for me is - how can I earn here by posting my photos to? I am only few month here and still have nothing, despite the fact that every day I write posts with the best of my photos and information that usually people are interested in... Thank you!

You just have to keep at it. Use #photofeed tag to get more exposure.

That is some great photos. I bet you did have a hard time not getting sand in the camera changing lens and also filters. Hopefully, the camera got a good cleaning when you were done.

Got sand all over the sensor.

Excellent. You have captured nature's artwork on full display, showing off even.

That's superb photography.really nice and good photo.thanks for shearing.
