Of tiered temples...

The Taman Ayun temple of Bali, or 'Pura Taman Ayun' grounds are immense and boasts structures of traditional architecture... multi-tiered slim towers of pagoda-like design.

Surrounded by ponds and waterways filled with fish and lotus plants, it is delightful to browse and explore.

What I found most alluring and interesting were the frangipani trees that were almost totally bare when we were there, leaving skeletal outlines and silhouettes against the sky.

Ever since I spotted this angle at this spot...
Then I took the shot... but have not ever posted this photo

I was amazed how mossy the thatched roofs were...
As I have mentioned before, the Balinese have this knack of leaving stone and whatever else... walls, statues, structures, etc, mossy and/or blackened with damp and age, with lichen, ferns and all... and yet looking so naturally amazing!
