Entry to a family temple
Balinese split temple gates, or the Candi Bentar... are captivating!
Found this at a family temple ~ the ambience under a huge shady Banyan tree definitely set the mood for this edit of mine...
and the carvings on the candi bentar themselves
I love how the Balinese leave their structures to age gracefully with nature
The moss and vegetation, as well as the darkening stone and brickwork
These add to the mood and beauty of the whole place

Thank you very much, Marianne! :)
I'm so glad you enjoy my presentation of my photos...
You explain it very well when you said they let their work age gracefully with nature. This is so true in many cultures. As far as banyan trees ago, those things are really cool! We saw this huge one when we were in Maui Hawaii. It was in the town of Lahaina. It covered a huge amount of space. Something like 2 acres, I think it’s the largest in the United States. I feel in Indiana Jones vibe going on in the shot!?!
I do love how nature co-exist with structures made with human hands... Something modern developers need to learn. Ohhh yes - this banyan was one of those with lots of air roots and you can hardly see the actual main trunk any more... :) They are really cool... Wow - largest in the U.S. - must be quite a sight! Yup - Indy all the way.... :D I was trying to simulate a work I saw from somewhere - the mood that edit created was excellent!!
Structures existing with nature… Not something you see very often at all. Unless of course the structures falling down in nature is taking over. Abandoned. I like your version much better!
Looks very beautiful 👍 especially the temple under the banyan. Not sure ..how trees get so bigger at temple places...or it is just opposite. ..definately a very blissful place

Thank you, @steemflow... :)
I like to think it grew together... that they planted or found the tree younger and built the temple near it, then they sort of grew together... isn't that a nice thought?! :)
I do not think so....actually while building any temple in ancient rimes., People use to lookout for some good places even our Saint and sages use to sit under a tree to meditate ...so considering these factors I believe it's tree first and then temple.....just my thought😉

Wow! This is incredibly beautiful. The stone walls have such a feeling of permanence and the steps are so inviting. Nice captures :)
