Can you see forever...

in #photography5 years ago (edited)

Grey weather can sometimes be quite nice... especially when you have wonderful scenes like these to accompany you...

The scenes may be drop-dead gorgeous when sunny, but it's got its own attraction even with a light drizzle, chilly winds and grey skies.

Craggy coasts, cliffs of rough rock and crumbling soil...
Love the detailed textures up close!
Wild exotic vegetation invading the ground... each fighting for a patch of space of their own
What fun!
And all this while, the silent ever-in-motion sea watches
Sometimes making an extra large crash upon the beach or rocks...

With the rain, come the mists...
Shrouding the faraway coastline and horizon
Faded...
Almost making you believe, you can see forever... almost
Windswept... sea spray, mists and rain
Add to the scene
Only the red ground topped with the dark green, provides the stark rich contrast to the grey scene

I gather some of my best B&W shots on overcast days. These here, especially the second photo, are beautiful. I like the softness to the second photo. That is some serious erosion there.. reminds me of Hawaii. They have volcanic red dirt.. stains like the devil.

Hahaha... yup, don't get any of the red dirt on you!
I actually had that second photo first, somehow I thought as a thumbnail the (current) first photo would be more eye-catching... That second photo carried the mood of this post ~ ...if you could see forever... and the wildness of the vegetation.

You are right. The first photo is definitely more eye-catching for a thumbnail. I can appreciate the second photo more because within it I can see your artistic eye catching the moment. I don’t think everyone has the eye to see certain things or the beauty in certain things and less they spend more than two seconds staring at it. Obviously being a photographer yourself, you tend to look at things more than just for a moment.

Thank you, @pixresteemer!

Overcast can be really great for photos. Details of things are different and without hard shadows you can see things that wouldn't show up in bright sun. I like it, not everyday though : )

So right... Yes, not everyday... :)
