Last week on Monday, after wasting time a the job fair at M Hotel, I took a bus to the place I was supposed to pick up my graduation gown. This is a picture of a old shophouse I shot when I was on the bus and I was 5 minutes from my destination.
上个星期一去了M Hotel里的一个招聘会浪费了点时间后，我打算搭公车去我要拿🎓毕业袍的地方。这张照片是里3目的地约5分钟在公车拍的。

I don't get to walk this part often. So, I took one photo of the canal.
我不会常到这里所以拍下这里的情景。
Here was the place. Serangoon Broadway. It’s more of a bridal studio.

Turned out they were close on Monday. Damn. I should have checked.
原来他们星期一休息。真糟糕。我该先查清楚。
So, I ended up waiting for the bus outside the place and looked around. This is something interesting. I didn't know Bee Cheng Hiang (a shop that sells BBQ meat has a cafe here that serves lunch.
所以搞到在外面的车站等车并看看周围。真有趣。不知道买肉干的美珍香里有午餐吃的咖啡屋。
Across the road was an old fire station that is not in operation anymore.
对面有个建筑是以前的消防局。
The bus came and took me back to Toa Payoh Central. It's been a long day and I hadn't eat much. So, I went to the food court at the basement and ate a rice dumpling and had cup of tea before heading home.
公共车来带我回到大巴窑中心。过了漫长一天，没有吃多少。 所以，我去了地下层的食阁吃了一个粽子，喝了一杯茶，然后回家了。
The next day I went out for pickleball game and a not so usual location as the usual location was undergoing some repair works.
隔天出去打匹克球的地方不是常去的地方因为通常去的场地在进行维修工作。
Lunch was at Newton Food Center where many stalls seem close but this place is more of a night eating place.
午餐是在纽顿熟食中心。那里很多摊位没开但那里通常都是晚上较多人。
I had a good $6 fish porridge. Bit more expensive than other food center but it was reasonably good. My friend bought me this teh halia (ginger tea) which wasn't as good as I expected.
我吃的一碗$6的鱼粥挺不错。比其他熟食中心贵但相当不错。球友买了杯姜茶请我喝。那姜茶只算过得去。
Later in the afternoon, went looking for the graduation gown but the weather looks not so good. In fact, it rained earlier but it stopped. So, that was good for me.
下午迟些时候，去找那毕业袍但天气不太好。还下雨呢。还好过后听了。也算幸运。
I walked into the place and told them what I was there for. They asked if I had an appointment. No. Then asked for my student card. Glad I was carrying it.
我走进去告诉他们我来的目的。他们问我可有预约。没。然后问我要学生证。还好我还带着。
I tried the gown for size. Then the lady there started selling me some photography package. I said "No thanks". I just need the gown for the ceremony and some pictures for the social media.
穿上袍试尺寸。然后有位小金额开始向我兜售他们的拍像配套。我说 不用了，谢谢。我只要那袍去毕业典礼和拍些照片放上社交媒体。
They said their photography will include makeup and you can have it with your family. I guess the makeup made them looked good but can't you just photoshop away?
他们说那配套会包挂化妆还可以跟家人一起拍。我猜是化妆弄成他们这样好看吗？不是PS掉就行了吗？
I paid $45 to take this bag with the gown inside home. I don't need to wash it when I return to them. They will refund me the $25 deposit upon return of the gown. Mission completed on Tuesday. Wednesday would be May Day and Friday was Graduation Day but that's a story for another time.
我还了$45把这装着毕业袍带回家。当我还给它们时，我不需要洗它。 退回毕业袍后，他们将退还$25的押金。星期二完成任务。 星期三是五一劳动节。星期五是毕业日，但那是另一个故事。
