The Big Comfy Couch is a Canadian kids tv series about Loonette the Clown and her doll Molly, who solve everyday problems on their Big Comfy Couch.
Often themes included reading a story to Molly, her "living" doll & friend, or adventurous encounters with the dust bunnies who live under the couch, visits to various areas in #Clowntown, trips to Granny Garbanzo's garden, and songs that emphasize the episode's teachable moment.
This series was one of my favorites growing up. Loonette and Molly taught children like myself the #Alphabets, #Exploration, #Time, and #Numbers. Still, at it's core were lessons and problem solving sequences that emphasized creativity and imaginative play.
The show originally aired in Canada on YTV, Treehouse TV, and later syndicated in the states as well as around the world. It originally released March 2, 1992 and ran until December 29, 2006.
The Big Comfy Couch was as imaginative as it was innovative and I highly recommend it for viewers young and old alike.
