Today I wanted to give you something straight from the archive. Actually, in this case literally. That was the name of the Mixtape.......

The Archive

The Archive was released back in 2012 as an Alternative Hip Hop / Rap Album by Nation and Sirxch of the New Jersey Tri State based music group known as Emotive Gone Over. These songs were gathered from some the musicals sessions that took place 2007 to 2012. This unique blend of the recordings fit best in the presented order, but may not be in the order of date recorded, independent release, or fully representative the individual artist own full project.

You see during those years we were indeed working on our collaborative mixtape, but we were simultaneously working on our own rap projects as well during that time. After our high school days Sirxch and I parted ways going to separated Universities. This meant our schedules and recording times were a drastically different. We could no longer be in the same studio any longer recording as often as we use to, but rather be more free about when and where we recorded.

Sirxch went on to create a musical group called Thre3xperiment to which is featured in this Archive. I'm thankful for our jam sessions and great vibes spent creating this tape and all the adventures in between. I believe we both felt the time was just right to be releasing this type of audio during that time.

Whether it was our our inner Rap Artist trying to reach out or maybe we just needed document our college years by mixing a bit of freeverse with the spirit of fun it was a fun ride.

Cheers to one of my best friends, partners in musical crime, and smartest guy I know for helping create this musical endeavor. Sirxch you're the best musical brother this Nation could ask for.

The cover art was created with three dimensional masses and captured a virtual camera in Rhino3D. I was inspired by an old vault door, so I had to recreate one for this collaboration. It needed to spill with creativity, curiosity, have a little bit of fun, and a little bit of a flare. By leaving the vault monotone and having color flow from the sill of the door the piece would almost be complete.

The final touch was to translate the name of the album into another language to add to the intrigue of the Archive. Liking the typology of Latin it was placed above the vault with the artist name on each column.

I hoped you enjoyed. Just fun college rap and a nice abstract vault to take your mind off things.
