Overview of Slamet Riyadi Monument

Slamet Riyadi Monument made of bronze material is located on the main road of Surakarta, exactly at Gladag intersection.
The construction of the monument is nothing but remembering or remembering the services of Slamet Riyadi while leading his troops in Surakarta in 1947 against the Dutch army. This monument was inaugurated on 12 November 2007 by the Army Chief of Staff, Gen. Joko Santoso.
Slamet Riyadi was a courageous young TNI officer while leading the attack against the Dutch who controlled Surakarta. But with his troops, Slamet Riyadi managed to return the city from the hands of the Dutch within a period of four days of war.
This young officer died in a war against the RMS in Ambon. For these services the government made its own monument of perception at the Gladag intersection, which is the main road in the city of Surakarta, Central Java. Now this main road is also named as Jalan Slamet Riyadi.
