Photocircle Monthly Update round-up: "A beginners guide to the Photocircle contests"
Dear Contributors!
Welcome to the first monthly project update! In this post, we will be highlighting the changes & revamp that were implemented in the past month of curation. In this article, we will learn how a Steemian / contest participant will be able to start on his / her contributions to the project and be able to acquire upvotes and rewards from @photocircle.
In the past weeks, we have been receiving questions from interested participants on how are they able to join the contests.
Let’s begin on the simple and easy rules for all Photocircle contests:
- All photographs and writing should be an original work by the author / poster / photographer
- use #photocircle as one of the tags
Top 10 Contributors contest update
From the initial program for the contest, the changes were made on the categories for the daily contest and the prize was revamped as well.
Let’s start with the reward system
The prize pool was increased from 2 SBD to 5 SBD.
The prize is now distributed in this manner:
- Top 1 Contributor = 2 SBD
- Top 9 Contributors = equal share of the 3 SBD (0.33 SBD for each author)
Let’s look at the categories
From initial 6 categories, we have added 3 categories more. The idea is to widen the coverage of the contest and distribute the rewards inclusively.
Here are the 9 categories & its schedule:
Monday
- nature photography
- people photography
Tuesday
- animal photography
- magic hour photography
Wednesday
- vehicle photography
- architectural photography
Thursday
- cityscape photography
- street photography
Friday
- macro photography
Take note
There is no limitation when it comes to the quantity of your submissions to any of the categories. However, one (1) entry per category will only be featured on the Top 10 Contributors contest.
Occasionally, @photocircle will still upvote your posts whether it is featured or not. Some of you might be receiving 1 or 2 upvotes, depending on the quality of your work the upvote amount will vary from 10% to as high as 75%. On some occasions, the upvote amount is lower due to the quantity of submissions to the tag, we tried to spread out the upvotes to cover more of the posts if needed.
Photocircle Hall of Fame contest update
This is a weekly contest that is related to the Top 10 Contributors contest. The goal is to reward a participant that was able to win at least three (3) Top Contributor badge. In most cases there are more than one (1) participant that qualifies to be the weekly Hall of Famer, in that case we will conduct a ”Voting round”. This is an added criteria when it comes to the choosing for the winner.
To put it simply, win a minimum of three (3) Top 10 Contributors badge for a chance in winning the Hall of Fame badge.
Let’s learn about the rewards for this contest:
- A feature in the Photocircle Hall of Fame post
- The @photocircle account will support one of the photographer’s daily post by means of an upvote and resteem for one (1) month
- 5 SBD reward to be sent to the author’s wallet as a token of appreciation
The intention of the Hall of Fame contest is to support an author / photographer in his Steemit journey. A month of support to an individual account will be a good way of encouragement to pursue content creation.
That sums up the update that happened on the last month curation program. It has been a successful month of curation and an enjoyable experience to view the works by the photography community.
We hope that everyone had a great time and we are looking forward to your upcoming contributions!
Stay tuned for the upcoming events!
With appreciation,
Photocircle team
