LIFE WITHOUT AN AGENDA

in #philosophy7 years ago

Do you know what freedom is?

And not the freedom that libertarians argue for, or freedom of speech, or religion, or what the founding fathers of the United States talked about. . I am speaking of real freedom. A freedom greater than can be expressed in mere words in a blog post.

The freedom that is being referenced here goes deeper than any material worldly concerns and dives into an understanding that will set you on a path of persistent peace.

In order to understand what I speak of requires an open mind and the ability to accept that life is suffering if only experienced in a one dimensional way through the vantage point of the mind. Most people, who have the capacity to be completely honest with themselves, would agree that life is one problem after another coupled with concerns, regrets, arguments, opinions, pain, sadness, sorrow. . on and on. . .

I am here to tell you that all negativity can be transcended. Your pursuit for happiness can be realized  right NOW and with a little persistence can be realized moment after moment, day after day, hour after hour. .

If I were to tell you that complete 100% happiness is available to you, would you be willing to pay the price?

Would you be willing to sacrifice something that actually has no real value for the ultimate freedom that you were meant to experience?

The truth I am talking about is an open secret and available to all at this very moment. It requires the courage to drop your agenda, relinquish your opinions, let go of your attachments, and live your existence as it was meant to be lived. It requires realizing that you are not in control and never have been. As much as you would like to believe free-will is something that you possess then you will continue to suffer in "the world". . .As long as you hang on to defend your opinions and cherish material objects as if they are permanent then you will suffer. As long as you want to fight and resist that which is, you will suffer.

Let go. . Surrender. . Realize that you have never actually made a choice. . There are plenty of examples right in front of you that will help you understand this. . Did you choose to be born? Did you choose to be a man/woman? Did you choose your physical location within the world? These seem like important decisions. . Whom was it that made these decisions about "your life"?

When did you start making decisions? Do you know the date/time?

This is an important question for you to ponder. I don't know the answer and chances are you don't know the answer either. . Maybe the answer is unknown because we have never made any decisions. We have spent the whole time  thinking that this is "our life" when in fact it was never ours to begin with. Maybe everything is flowing exactly as it is supposed to regardless of what our opinions are on how life is supposed to be. . Regardless of what we think right and wrong is. . .

Acceptance of the unacceptable is a key that unlocks many of the doors down the path of complete freedom. . .

Is it plausible that existence is operating under its own agenda and personal free-will is a made up concept within the minds of all individuals. Does that make sense? Doesn't that seem completely logical and explain the nuances of a seemingly troubled world.

Who are we to define what good/bad right/wrong up/down are anyhow? If you are not the one driving the bus then what does your personal opinion really mean. . And if it's not your opinion in the first place, then why do you hang on to it? Why do you resist others? Are there even others if the Truth lies in the fact that no individual is in charge of his/her doings?

Let go of your life agenda. . surrender into the utter mystery of it all. . . thoughts are not "yours" and they no longer have to be feared. . This moment. .  right here. . .right Now. .  is all there ever is. . Time and time again. . Experience it NOW as this is the moment of eternity.

Too many practice the deadly sin of empathy when apathy will get you to grace faster.

True. . I would add to your comment by saying that empathy alone is not "bad", yet when you become attached to that which you are empathetic , suffering will arise.

Yes for many their empathy is a manifestation of their pride.

Surrender!

Yes, there is much wisdom in one word. . as you say. . surrender

I have to choose to surrender though. Maybe that's the only real choice or set of choices in life.
