RE: Philosophy is the utilization of reflective analysis and not a logical study of science conclusions

in #philosophy7 years ago

"Although science and philosophy are are related, actually they are two far corner of a square. The common point is just curious. Both science and philosophy ask the unknown but science must be realistic meanwhile philosophy may not be. If you cannot prove something you believe it is just a tought similar as philosophy.

There are some exceptions for this. For example, Einstein postulates that nothing can pass speed of light. This can be philosophy also. There are some explanation about this issue but this is not a theory. Also there is no confliction with this postulates so we can use this postulates describing somethin. For some calculations we need these kind of postulations. However, you cannot say there is no gravity without any explanation. In philosophy you can. Philosophy can be limitless, but science cannot be."

You are talking in same manner with this member:

Couldn't disagree with you. What makes philosophy limitless is its nature that mostly came from the mind.

You are right, mind can be limitless, but about nature, the system is not working like this. For nature, i mean phsically things. For example, we can see 400-700nm, we can hear about 20-20000Hz. These are boundries for us. Also for world there are some physical limitations such as speed of light, planck's constant even pi. These are usable boundries to calculate something nowadays. They can be improved or changed but always there will a limit for physical world.

I always think like this, if there is a time consept then there must be a limit.

By the way, i want you to ask a question. What does it mean limitless? (Limitless + 1) is bigger than limitless or same?

Limitless +1 is the same, it doesn't make any difference. It's still the same limitless. It's like limitless + limitless = limitless

I do not want to ask mathematical result. I think there is a misunderstanding, sorry. I want to ask what is limitless for philosophy.

Since philosophy mostly happen and works in the mind of a person and mind has no limits and boundaries in terms of its capability to think. That makes philosophy limitless then.

Yes, limitless in one’s mind.

Great reply.
Proving or unproving a hypothesis brings improvement. Philosophy is interesting and sometimes seems to me like just common sense. I don’t want to put it down though. Very interesting subject.

Thanks my friend;)
