AFTER 40 LONG YEARS, THEY REUNITE.
Hello, warriors!
So as what I've shared previously on my post, my dad was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer. It was tough for the family especially to me being a "papa's girl".
I have shared to you the struggles of my dad on that post and how we, as a family, faced this sad reality.
I was in a state of disbelief and denial. And I just can't fathom this situation we have now.
This was also the reason of my depression on my previous post - "What Keeps Me Going".
I even decided not to tell my papa's relatives and siblings yet about his true condition because I do not want them to think that my dad is dying. My dad himself is a weak man tho he looks strick and strong at times. As a protective daughter, I didn't want his siblings to react negatively on his situation so I tried hiding it.
Then I realized, who am I to hide it? They are in the same blood and they have the right to know. More importantly, this will too bring joy in my papa's daily battle.
The Maglalang Clan
Originally, my dad was born in Macabebe, Pampanga. He is the 2nd born of the 11 children of my late Lolo Domeng and my late Lola Beatriz. Sounds like a happy family, right? Well, not really.
Living each own life, my dad and his younger sister chose to reside here in Cebu City. Others stay in Pampanga, Palawan, and Iloilo.
In my 24 years of existence, I have not met some of my relatives in Pampanga and Palawan. I even joked at my dad telling him he should make me a family tree (genealogy) so I'd be able to trace who's who.
Thanks to the power of modern technology that I was able to contact some of my cousins. Just recently they planned to have a reunion with the clan. The original date was December of this year; but things do happen too quick.
Funny how this dreadful CANCER was able to make this 40-years-in-the-making family reunion happen.
Yes, after FORTY LONG YEARS, they're back again in each other's arms... Complete and alive!
I'm so happy for them, especially for my dad. This makes him complete, I know. I'm just so glad.
The Reunion
My dad is the most handsome man in this photo. Guess who?
My sister, mom, dad, brother, and two lovely niece and nephew.
My dad's tears.
My mom, dad, tita, with my kuya and his daughter behind.
The never ending "tagay"!
I have fears in my heart but I will pray for many more happy gatherings in the future.
That's all for now!
