Nationwide Transport Strike Today
There will be no classes today in schools, as well as government agencies due to the nationwide transport strike. The reason for the strike is the proposed replacement of old jeepney to a new model. For drivers and operators, it would be costly to purchase a new one. The strike will surely affect the people especially those working in private companies.
Not all jeepney operators participates
Some jeepney operators are not taking part in the protest. I talked to one jeepney driver, it is better to work than join the protest. For him, he needs money that's why he decided to work. According to him, some drivers preferred to work as well.
Jeepney operators are somewhat reasonable
These jeepney operators are somewhat reasonable considering the cost of the jeepney modernization. However, they should also improve their service.
The need of improvement
There is actually a need of improvement regarding the transportation system in the country, not just the jeepneys. Lots of buses in our province are aging and they need to improve it. I had experienced riding on a bus which its machine malfunctioned, reason enough to unload and wait for another ride. When it's raining, the water is leaking inside. That's why I think tge modernization would be good for the passengers.
Rude drivers and fare collectors
I experienced having a ride on buses and jeepneys with rude drivers and jeepney drivers. Some of them mistreat their passengers. While some fare collectors are cheating on their passengers which I experienced a lot of times. Just yesterday, I was nagged by this guy because I handed him PhP100, and the fare is PhP15. Looking at his hand, there are lots of PhP20 bills, enough for a change. Yet he is complaining. I was like "you called me to ride your bus, yet you're mad at me". I think the workers should be respectful towards their passengers.
May this would be a peaceful day
Despite the strike, we are all hoping that it would be peaceful. May the drivers and operators imposed to their members to avoid violent strike.

Too bad for those working under private companies like me. We aren't exempted from work. I understand that some jeepney drivers would lose their daily living when their old jeepneys are disposed. However, I really think there is a need for replacement of these old jeepneys. I just wish that the government could extend any help to lessen their burden so that they could still continue to work and earn a living despite this.

I hope those that do have work will be ok. Besides the transport strike, it might rain this afternoon. Wishing safety to those who will be going home during those times.
True friend. There are many rude drivers I met too but did not encounter a cheater. Some were just rude if my money is not coin.
