Mount Mayon, The Philippines' Perfect Volcano
Mayon (Central Bikol: Bulkan Mayon, Filipino: Bulkang Mayon), also known as Mayon Volcano or Mount Mayon, is an active stratovolcano in the province of Albay in Bicol Region, on the large island of Luzon in the Philippines. Renowned as the "perfect cone" because of its symmetric conical shape, the volcano and its surrounding landscape was declared a national park on July 20 of 1938, the first in the nation.
Many have said, it is one of the perfect cone-shaped volcanoes on earth. But, to my former classmate, it is just one of the many volcanoes that can be found through out the country. Yet, there is more to this volcano than we may ever really know in our lifetime.
If we do live in Albay, the local delicacies are as hot as the volcano itself. That at least by the spelling of the word itself. You may want to try the volcanic hot foods. Yes, we really are getting hot whilst enjoying the scenery around the volcano. You can also try to eat their chili hot-flavored ice cream.
Yes, there are times the volcano is very shy. That at least we are thankful that it may not be angry, for you will surely see it glow by day and night.
For if it is angry, nothing will be exempted from its wrath. Not even this old Spanish church.
Well, we must be thankful to know that this volcano named Mayon does is also bringing forth water to the lowlands, bringing a good abundance of it for rice farms and plantations surrounding the volcano.
Yes, the people are blessed with such a volcano that brings forth abundance of rice harvests. Rice is a staple food for the Filipino people. There's more to it than most of us see and take a closer look at the rivers that came down towards the lower right part of the photo. Visualize the river path from above the volcano and you will see that there is no stopping of this water that comes out of this Mayon volcano. Compute the volume of the water that flows from those rivers and equate to that of the area of lands from above on that volcano.
You will be surprised to see how much water it gives to the lands below and there are plenty of rivers around the volcano. Yet, most of us don't see such a wonderful gift that have been given unto the people. The Mayon volcano itself brings out more water than the volume of ashes, igneous and methamorphic rocks among many others it spews out when it erupts.

nice article my friend, well when ever we heard about volcano the first thing comes to mind is a dangerous lava but it's nice to hear that mount mayon volcano gives nice supply of water to the crops and which ultimately benefits the peoples, well we heard that god creates every thing for some purpose and reason and we have a great example of that volcano, thank you my friend for sharing good information with us, Stay happy.

It is a very beautiful volcano. I wonder if there are people inside that old Spanish church when it got under the volcano ashes. Probably there are many relics inside it.
But the foods in Bicol are so tasty indeed because of coconut creamed dishes with hot chillies, it just makes me hungry.
