Greetings friends of Steemit,

This is my first participation in the contest of pink petals, sponsored by @petals and here you can see the rules of the contest to participate.

This beautiful flower is called Gerbera jamesonii or also known as daisi. It's one of my favorite flowers, and my husband (@theonlyway) gave it to me along with my girls on Mother's Day.

This flower is very popular and widely used as a garden plant or cut flowers. It is one of the most important "flower cut" occupying the fifth position in the world after rose, carnation, crisahermosa flower is llantemo, and tulip.

The gerbera has about 150 species described and of these, only 38 accepted. Among the different kinds of gerberas that exist, it is appreciated that they vary greatly in shape, size and colors: white, yellow, orange, red, pink. The center of the gerbera flower is sometimes black and in many cases the same flower may have petals of various colors.
