LG will launch new phone with stylus pen named Q8
It is a good news for the user who uses daily smart phone taking note but also who is tired of using Qwerty keyboard.
Based on human nature, users can think deeper or creative when they use pen.
That means user feel easier when they write by a pen rather than type a keyboard.
So, new phone will be a good tool for someone who has a creative job.

During 2010~2011, I had been struggling with making a better UX for note taking users when I worked for LG.
I led a small task making a new UX based on the usage of Pen.
But the guideline of the 'Pen project' is 'Pen shouldn't have any hardware nor software inside'.
Due to the performance, time, budget and contextual limitation, I cannot continue my project.

Since 'Optimus Vu' at 2011 or 2013, there hasn't been no stylus embedded phone from LG.
In my opinion, Q8 looks like a resurrection of the 'Prada Phone' not 'Optimus Vu' because the ratio of phone won't be 4:3.
When 'Optimus Vu' first launched, the ideal ratio for pen was 4:3.
At that time, the trendy word for this kind of phone is 'Phablet', which is a new name of mixture of 'Phone' and 'Tablet'.

By the way, LG was good at making a smart phone with stylus pen.
It was named as 'Prada phone' collaborated with Prada corp, which is launched at one month ahead of Apple iPhone at 2007.

Next stylus model is 'Optimus Vu' which optimized with the note taking user.
Someone in LG insisted on the optimal ratio of pen-based device for human was 4:3 not 16:9.
I didn't agree on his opinion at that time.

I think that LG always watch change of the market size and activities of competitors
LG might think that they have some competence about this segmentation.
After taking leadership 'Phablet' by Samsung, LG didn't make pen-based devices.

Samsung was also good at making pen based smart phone named Galaxy Note since 2011 CES.
