The reports so shocking Stringer was told to leave the capital Immediately!
Short News Clip from ABC15 found in sources below.
This would have been when Stringer was in his mid 30's. Some contend that he was given probation before judgement and there was no conviction by the judge which was reduced to the 4th level lower than a misdemeanor in Arizona.
I believe this calls into question not just a pedophile who as a predator is Still given a position in government, but those who are tasked with judgement. How corrupt are you to allow the molestation of children to be swept under the carpet and just receive a slap on the wrist?
According to wikipedia,
David Stringer is an American attorney, businessman, politician and a former Republican member of the Arizona House of Representatives elected to represent District 1 in 2016. Stringer operates the Comfort Inn in Prescott, Arizona. Before his resignation from the Arizona House, he had been a Republican precinct committeeman and state committeeman, and a co-chairman of the county GOP's finance committee.
On January 25, 2019, the Phoenix New Times reported that Stringer had been charged with five sex offenses, including two child porn charges, in 1983 while he was living in Baltimore. Stringer was subsequently given 5 years of probation and had the charges expunged from his record in 1990. Stringer confirmed that he had been arrested and charged with the offenses, but stated that he would not be resigning from the Arizona house despite Arizona Governor Doug Ducey's calls for him to do so.] On March 27, 2019, facing a 5:00pm deadline to hand over documents regarding his 2018 comments and the 1983 sex offenses, Stringer resigned from the Arizona House.
Stated by a local Arizona News station KTAR,
According a Baltimore Police Department report obtained by ABC15, Stringer paid boys younger than 15, one of whom had a mental disability, to perform sex acts and allegedly molested the boys more than 10 times.
ABC15 reported that Stringer pleaded to lesser charges and was sentenced to five years of probation and 1,040 hours of community service. The case was ultimately expunged.
Stringer wrote on Facebook on Saturday that he was the subject of “salacious allegations of sexual improprieties that had no basis in fact.”
Gov. Doug Ducey, who called for Stringer’s resignation in June over racially insensitive comments from the lawmaker, tweeted that the charges were “disgusting and deeply disturbing.”
Yes they are!
House Speaker Rusty Bowers said he wasn’t involved in the ethics probe but received updates from the committee.
“The behavior described in Mr. Stringer’s arrest report is absolutely appalling and sickening,” he said in a statement Friday. “I confronted Mr. Stringer with the information on Wednesday afternoon and again asked him to resign, which he finally did.”
According to ABC15 in an article titled,
Ethics Committee releases documents alleging former Rep. David Stringer paid children for sex acts in 1980s
Included in the documents is the original Baltimore Police Department report of its sex abuse investigation. Detectives say Stringer paid two teens, both younger than 15 years old, to perform sex acts. One of the victims was also living with a mental disability, police said, and Stringer "knew or should have known" of the victim's condition.
Authorities ultimately filed eight sex abuse charges against Stringer, including two counts of 2nd degree sexual offense, a felony which was punishable at the time of the crime with up to 20 years in prison for each count. Stringer entered a guilty plea to a lesser charge, according to the documents. See the full police report embedded below. WARNING: Content may be considered graphic by some readers.
