Passive Aggressive Behavior in Communities and/or the Workplace

Passive Aggressive Behavior tends to be prevalent in the work place due to the professional nature and hierarchy of business structures.
People spend a majority of time with their co-workers and naturally form relationships, but expressing emotions is often deemed unacceptable due to the professional standards of the work environment.
And depending on the work environment, it can be objectionable or at the very least uncomfortable to even assertively express anger due to the hierarchical structure of the business model.

Sort:

Passive aggressive behavior is not a healthy way to interact with other people.

It will rot us from the inside.

I believe it’s much better to say things straight to tha e face and just be ourselves. This way we will be much more comfortable and probably more happy too

There is a Personality Test; MBTI Test which measures the ones personality to an accurate level. So i took tests of my whole family a discovered their respective personalities and i also found what issues they can face and through which points they can enjoy the life. Passive aggressive as you mentioned in your previous blog ( i am a consistent reader of your blogs) you beautifully describe the issues of this behavior and now you mentioned a few more traits their possible reasons but you did not mention what is the number of people who has passive aggressive behavior specifically stats. @aggroed

By the way your these blogs helped me a lot to understand the psyche of human nature more closely and deeply. For this you deserve massive respect. Great Job <3

I love your discussion on Passive Aggressive Behavior and you can actually write a book on this one or be a speaker at a forum on how to deal with this behavior. I had a training once on Assertive Behavior but your discussion and articles about Passive Aggressive are more detailed and well explained. Thank you very much for sharing this to us @aggroed.

It's a pretty complex- and sadly common- issue I deal with quite a lot in my coaching and counseling practice.

Most of the time, I've found the behavior can be tracked back to hyper-critical or hyper-supportive parents. One sets up a latent anger at having anything or anyone try to control your life, but without any tools to express feelings in a healthy manner (because it was probably unsafe, in childhood). The other sets up a sense of entitlement that leads to someone becoming sullen and "difficult" when they don't get their way, because they were taught to expect to always get their way.

Thanks for providing these insightful articles.

Bright Blessings!

Those traits combined, i have seen them in some people. A person with such traits of passive aggression can be very dangerous.
They can wait to express healthy anger and let it bottle up and when they react, their reactions always lead to something so serious, fights, destruction of property, backstabbing.
I think a person who is passive aggressive needs professional attention.

Passive aggressive is one of those monikers that gets thrown around a lot but I think is misunderstood more often than not. Thank you for the insight and clarity.

Passively Aggressive Behavior tends to be prevalent in the work place due to the professional nature and hierarchy of business structures.

Lolz... This can also be seen in most African homes where your parents get to upset you and you can do absolutely nothing and then your passive aggressive nature comes up. But does passive aggression really solve anything because most times those it is geared toward don't even have an idea about it.

Wow after reading this it became apparent to me just how many people I know are actually passive aggressive :O Thanks for this article!

good article
thanks for share

Besides the anger and anger they have experienced, the suggestions made by other people are interpreted as interfering with their freedom because they are sensitive to external control. While they are with other people, they both expect to be controlled by these people and they strongly oppose it.. @aggroed
