Second Creative Writing Challenge: Task #4

in #payitforward7 years ago (edited)

Hello everyone,

For the last few days you had the chance to work on Task #3. I'm happy to see that most of you are having fun reading the news and choosing the one piece to turn in an unique story.

Some of you have picked natural disasters and some of you have chosen some funny news - the choice varies. Make sure you take a look on what your fellow challengers have done. Curiosity will help you learn more :)

It's now time to move on.

Here's how the table with entries from Task #3 looks like.
Do not worry if you do not see your submission here. If you have published your post, however I can't discover it below, it means that I haven't discovered it yet and it will be added as soon as I spot it.

Our challengers are consistently putting efforts to think, write and finish their tasks on time. Take a look at some of their stories. There are unique pieces that will present the best of Steemit content for years ahead.

What we need to do now is announcing Task #4.

Task #4: The Hero

Ok. Here we go:

Write a #payitforward post based on the facts about a man called Hristo. Write it as a fiction story based on what you have read.

Here are some facts to help you write your story:

Full name:Hristo Atanasov
Age:60
Profession:Entrepreneur in the field of recycling
Main activity:Taking care of a huge group of homeless people (boys, girls, men and women with babies). Currently their number is 22.
Main business activities:Cleaning parks and construction sites, scrap collection.
Location:Ledenik Village near Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria
Where do they live?Hristo and his big family live at a former veterinary clinic
Hristo's Steemit profile:@hristoatanasov

Background:
Born in a family of two orphans he was told hundreds of stories he grew up with. When the first orphan came to him looking for a job at the beginning of the 90s and when the kid shared with him that it has no where to go Hristo didn't need to think a lot and accepted him as a new member of his family.

For the past 25 years Hristo has taken care of decades of people, probably more than 50. They found not only a shelter, but also they met someone willing to teach them the main principles in life, like a real father. Hristo was recognized as a man of the year in Bulgaria for 2007 - an award that meant nothing to him.

Comments:
This is the first kind of a task that aims to go beyond the world of words and actually has the real potential to touch a real personality's life and somehow change it for the better. By the end of October I'll submit a new post showing what has happened with your #payitforward contributions.

I'm in a regular touch with Hristo and in fact he doesn't expect anything like that. We are about to surprise him in a very pleasant way :) If you are glad from your result, I'd appreciate if you share your story with your friends as well.

Now few words about the task itself:

There is enough material to write a novel. What you could focus on is a short story involving Hristo and few members of his big family. Use your imagination and there's no need to include all the provided images below. In fact you could pick your own that would be a better fit for your story.

For the ones in writer's block:

If you suddenly find yourself in a writer's block you could take a look here:
If possible try writing about objects - start from something simple, then present the huge ideas, personalities and in the next paragraphs develop the story and connect the dots.

If you need further clarification just type your questions in the comments.

Here is mine! Hristo's story is actually very engaging and interesting, and I respect his efforts and his struggle.

As I already wrote, I'm speechless. Good decision to use an image from his profile.

Thank you for reading it. I feel like you know Hristo well, and I wanted to give him a story that was respectful of his work and his life.

He often speaks about that kind of end and this is one of his main arguments to keep doing what he is doing and not to be just an entrepreneur. Once I heard him saying that he's confident that he's able to solve all of his business issues for few months if it wasn't his mission. Somehow he sees that having enough to live his own life will actually make him poor. There are countries measuring wealth with the amount of children in families. From this perspective he's definitely the richest man in the country.

You are absolutely right. Nobody lays on their deathbed thinking 'I wish I hadn't helped so many people'. You never regret that that kind of life.

Progressive difficulty which each task on this challenge. Ok, gotta step up my game for this one! :-)

Strange. From my point of view the tasks have almost the same level of difficulty.

Thank you @ellievallie! I've re-steemed it as I did with the rest of the publications. It's good to see that this challenge is able to impact the live of people who aren't into creative writing and their heroic efforts become the reason for you to practice your special skill one more time.

Thank you for the opportunity, it was inspiring to read about Hristo. He is a truly good man who deserves this outpouring of love and appreciation.

I hope he enjoys it!

Hers is my entry for the task. A touch shorter than I would like due to a flight nice and early tomorrow morning, but I still like this task a lot as the potential is infinite.
