This weeks curation contest has been canceled due to the all the insane HF issues.

We will pick this up next week. If edits are needed to the contest to make it work within the Totally Forked Steemit that we currently are dealing with it will be done.

As for the only official entry up to this point, @zorank you will receive an SBI share from @thedarkhorse for your efforts. Thanks for the early entry and attempt to kick off week 26.

So be ready, we will launch week 26 (again) next week at the same time. Hopefully by then people will be able to actually use the steemit again in a meaningful way.

Sort:

Contest has been postponed until next week. We will make a second attempt at week 26 next Tuesday at 12:01am.

Sorry to any inconvenience that this might cause, but we need time to recharge VP and RCs.

For the first time @pifc / @thdarkhorse, "post HF20" I have posted something.

My Week 26 post!

Yes, I went ahead, as I am determined to “immutably enshrine in the blockchain” my views [now also linked to this post, emphasizing cost ...] on how this latest effort, from our SteemIt developers "played out."

Talk straight is just the way this Steemian is "wired" ...

So, for now, I am still here, but ... For the sake of us all, I for one expect them to do a lot better "next time" ...

We will need more SP to make engagement in future.

SP will be needed for those that want to stay engaged and honestly this might be a good thing to a point. I think that Steemit could offer some sort of a RC/Mana boost for 90 days to allow people to test the waters and see if they like steemit. After that over the following 90 days the amount of free RC's/Mana drop off and people would have to either buy SP or Lease it to be able to keep functioning.

The important thing to remember is that steemit works best long term if people are powering up, but pulling Steem out of the system and selling on the open markets. If someone is just trying to earn a few dollars a month off rewards and not willing to power anything up they no longer will have a place on steemit.

This will all sort itself out in the end.

Here is my entry and I hope you guys will like featured stories and support them.

Thanks for your entry.

At the moment my power is too low, so I won't probably be able to upvote all the entries to this contest, if there are too many of them. Let's see how it goes.

And our team member @zorank is "on it," as usual! 😊 Up well before 🌄 here and your entry says "3 hours ago" ...

As you say, "somebody has to be #1"! Good job!! 👍

Thanks @roleerob. 👍 I have reserved my Tuesdays for Pay It Forward post. LOL

Entry #1

@pifc has set 2.000 STEEM bounty on this post!

Nice contest!!

Hmmm. Need an "assist" here @pifc / @thdarkhorse, then. While I see reference to plankton, minnow, redfish, etc., I do not know exactly what that means.

From memory, while "in here" over the last 3-4 months, seems like I've asked this before and been left with the impression it is somewhat arbitrary ...

Anyway, quantitative measures are what I assume we are talking about, i.e. I clearly "get" rep < 55 and words > 200!

So, presumably the amount in their wallet, but what are the "range bounds" for these?

The official categories threshold is not based on STEEM, but MVests.

Because of this, the value of STEEM needed to cross these marks will be ever increasing. At the moment, the values in STEEM are:

Plankton = < 50 Steem Power
Red Fish = < 500 Steem Power
Minnow = < 5000 Steem Power
Dolphin = > 5000 Steem Power
Orca = > 50,000 Steem Power
Whale = > 500,000 Steem Power

6 Months from now this might be different. Not even a year ago, you'd need 487.5 STEEM to be a Minnow. Nowadays, you need 500 STEEM. A year from now it will probably be 512.5 STEEM... and so on.

I hope this helps.

These marks seem to be set much higher already. I have some 94 SP now, but I'm still Plankton. I have the feeling I will be stucked with that title forever. Hahaha

The above are accepted numbers by most and the ones that are in my head. Real easy to base things on all the multiples of 5.

Thank you @trincowski!

Had just finished this reply to @paulag, knowing she "speaks the same language" (Excel), but here you supply the "official" answer!

So ... Where does one find this?

Sorry about this, please see the top of the post now. Have clarified exactly what we are looking for.

I am in soon as the workday is over I have two great entries. ThAnx for the me tioning and the support!

Question regarding "redfish": do we consider delegated SP (+/-) as well when we look for 50-480sp steemians?

No it's all about Owned SP.

What a great twist. I'll start thinking about candidates as soon as possible.
