Das bin ich. Ja, so laufe ich durch die Gegend, wenn es kalt ist.* Und mit kalt meine ich: unter 10 Grad

Das liegt nicht daran, dass ich jemanden ausrauben will oder dass ich gefährlich aussehen mag. Sondern es hat einen einfachen Grund: Ich habe Asthma.

Eine leichte Form von Asthma zum Glück nur. Meistens wird bei Asthma Atemnot durch eine Allergie, Anstrengung oder sonstige Einflüsse verursacht. Bei mir ist es eigentlich nur kalte Luft. Man könnte es auch als eine Art "Allergie gegen kalte Luft" bezeichnen.

Wenn ich zu viel kalte Luft atme, habe ich also die typische Asthmareaktionen, sonst aber nicht. Deshalb vermumme ich mich eben. Das ist zwar nervig, aber nicht schlimm.

Seit über 10 Jahren mache ich das bereits und mittlerweile habe ich mich schon daran gewöhnt, komisch angeschaut zu werden. Komischerweise werde ich aber auch fast nie darauf angesprochen. Einmal, als eine Schulklasse an mir vorbeiging, rief ein Kind: "Schau, da ist ein Dieb!" :D

Blöd ist es nur, wenn es richtig kalt ist. Dann muss ich nämlich mehrere Schichten an Tüchern und Schals anziehen. Und das ist ziemlich unangenehm, da man schwer Luft bekommt und ziemlich schwitzt. Seid froh, dass ihr das nicht braucht! :)

Falls ihr euch fragt, ob das denn überhaupt legal ist: Ja! Zumindest in Deutschland gibt es im Grunde nur für Demonstrationen ein Vermummungsverbot.

( * Natürlich versuche ich normal, etwas weniger gefährlich auszusehen, indem ich bunte Tücher oder Schals anziehe.)

A slight form of asthma, fortunately. Most asthma respiratory distress is caused by allergy, exertion or other influences. With me it is actually only cold air. That's why I'm masking myself. That's annoying, but not really bad. I've been doing this for over 10 years now and I've gotten used to being looked at funny. Strangely enough, I am almost never asked about it. Once, when a school class passed me by, a child shouted: "Look, there's a thief! :D

It's only stupid when it's really cold. Then I have to put on several layers of shawls and scarves. And that's pretty unpleasant, because you can't breathe easily and you sweat a lot.

Be glad that you don't need that! :)

If you are wondering if this is legal at all: Yes! At least in Germany there is basically only a ban on masking demonstrations.

(* Of course I normally try to look a little less dangerous by putting on coloured scarves.)
