But no work of art exists in a vacuum and is always seen in the light of its time - the moment the work becomes public, the artist's own intentions are merely another viewpoint and the art belongs to his audience.
Unfortunately, people are not always broad-minded and some even see art as existing in order to serve the state.
So, in this regard, I agree with Keats - a thing of beauty is a joy forever - it is a thing in itself and should never be viewed or used as a tool of propaganda.

It is nice to see that Chung Chong-Yuo tried different subjects in his works. I think many Artists do that just in order to be distracted from the same topics and this is something recharging that gives us more energy, power and inspiration to create. he was an Artist in his heart and mind, lovely paintings :)
