The Second U.S. Civil War

There are a great many rumors, threats, and otherwise big talk on the internet about a potential Civil War breaking out in The United States of America.

It is unavoidable. Like 1861, the differences in viewpoints are too extreme. The conflicts, like those in the middle of the nineteenth century, can not be remedied nor soothed.

However, a Civil War is nothing to take lightly. Sacrifices will be made.

Prior to and during the first Civil War, the Underground Railroad, a term referring to an organized network of anti-slave lawbreakers working beneath the cover of darkness under threat of death and imprisonment, smuggled escaped slaves to the northern States. Today, similarly, as the tension rises, people can expect to miss dozens of hours of Netflix.

During that first Civil War, human beings starved, had mangled limbs sawed off without anesthesia, and died for days on the blood-frozen battlefields of the Eastern United States. During this second Civil War, many people may be forced outdoors, possibly for hours at a time, and overly tight exercise pants will become a hindrance instead of a casual form of everyday dress.

The first Civil War set brother against brother, father against son, and countrymen against countrymen. Today, be prepared for a lot of discomfort at Thanksgiving gatherings.

There are other examples, things like slow phone service, a slight rise in coffee prices, and the risk of having to actually speak to your neighbors, but these dangers can be overcome if we do not act too rash. Because, unlike the first Civil War, the second Civil War will be the Civil War to end Civil Wars.
