Steemit Open Mic Weeek 138 - Silencio (Cover)
In 1932, one of the most important Puerto Rican composers of all time, Rafael Hernández, wrote a beautiful bolero that became a classic of Latin American music. A bolero that is associated with the highest poetry and has always been considered very romantic.
However, it is interesting to note that the metaphor used by the composer when he talks about flowers was to refer to his children.
Hernandez was a convinced nationalist and a man with a great social commitment and in this song what he wanted to express was the suffering of what they were experiencing as a country and that he did not want his children to have to suffer.
With any interpretation that is given, it is still an absolute beauty and this version is my participation for Steemit Open Mic, week 138.
En 1932, uno de los más importantes compositores puertorriqueños de todos los tiempos, Rafael Hernández, escribió un hermoso bolero que se convirtió en un clásico de la música latinoamericana. Un bolero que se le asocia con la más alta poesía y siempre se ha considerado muy romántico.
Sin embargo es interesante destacar, que la metáfora que usa el compositor cuando habla de las flores, era para referirse a sus hijos.
Hernández era un convencido nacionalista y un hombre con un gran compromiso social y en esta canción lo que quería expresar era el sufrimiento de lo que estaban viviendo como país y que él no quería que sus hijos lo tuvieran que padecer.
Con cualquier interpretación que se le dé, sigue siendo un belleza absoluta y esta versión es mi participación para Steemit Open Mic, semana 138.

las blancas azucenas, los nardos y las rosas

los tormentos que me da la vida
Si supieran lo que estoy sufriendo

My soul very sad and sorrowful
to the flowers wants to hide its bitter pain
I don't want the flowers to know
the torments that life gives me
If they knew how much I'm suffering
for my pains they would cry as well
Keep quiet, that the nards and the lilies are sleeping
I don't want them to know my pain
because if the see me crying, they will die
