Open Mic Songwriter's Challenge Week 7 : The Right Time To Say It
I have to say that I struggled with this one.
I wanted to to write a song about Steemit and crypto, but several readings have told me not to make an emotional connection to the cryptos...
That left real emotional relationship stuff, and lately I've truly been bitter about relationship stuff.
I spent 3 and a half days doing this...
I wrote 3 parts of songs that went absolutely nowhere, and eventually, enough of the week's theme set in that I let go of my bitterness and opened to the here and now.
The whole song is about how here and now are the only things that are true, so now has to be the right time and here has to be the right place.
It works it's way lyrically into the last line of the song.(I really didn't want to force the words in there)

this week was HAAAARD......AGAAAAAIN!!!! I felt it too bro, but looks like we pulled through right? This is actually a really great song, it feels like you addressed what you're feeling right now but without going too far against the will of the tarot! (although i did wonder about your wording: not to make an emotional connection to the cryptos....surely that meas to the coins themselves? Or does that constitute the same thing? Seems to me that writing a song and sharing it could be construed as a separate matter.....but I might just be being pedantic. Im sure you know in your heart where the boundary is :) peace and loaves dude x
To sing a "right place right time" song about the coins, for me, would acknowledge an emotional connection.(which is totally there already)
Put a bunch of hope into something and watch it betray you...

I see I see, actually writing ABOUT the coins, I get it...... yeh hope is not such a helpful word sometimes....I have a song about that actually, perhaps I'll put it up someday :) and yeah, when I saw that and/or in the theme I was immediately tickled.... Ive never used a forward slash in a song before.....actually Im not certain thats true.......but never so purposefully before!

One of the songs that I was writing that didn't quite make it had something to do with a schoolyard fight with a turkey.
"I asked the turkey after school

The rest of the song got scrapped, but the word was so fun I brought it back:)

Hopkinsville, Kentucky.
It was the birthplace of Edgar Cayce(famous psychic) and also home to the Hopkinsville Goblin incident that happened in the 50's.
Hopkinsville was my first choice for places to see the eclipse this summer. We settled on Lexington, Missouri.
I'm going to have to read up on this goblin.
It's really interesting. A bunch of people witnessed this event, including the Sheriff and the Sheriff's deputies.
They shot at these things, and they would pop like bubbles and surface somewhere else.
That doesn't surprise me. The things we know about reality is a drop in the bucket.
