Open Mic Week 36: "16 Bucks" (Original Acoustic Song)
It's been a minute since I've entered Open Mic, and it's been my intention almost every single week, but one thing or another has come up and the week slips away--but not this week.
Here's my entry, entitled "16 Bucks," and it is a song about giving seemingly everything to a person who gave nothing in return but heartache, but it stands as a thank you note of sorts for letting me down, because I wouldn't have found the real love of my life had I followed his ass to wherever and married him like I planned on doing for way too long. I hope you enjoy it.

I finally got a chance to listen to this.. and it's such a great song, you put tears in my eyes in the middle of a cafe... You play guitar really well, and convey such strong emotion throughout, it's a really strong song and I could listen to it again and again you know..... You deserve 1st place! Well done. x

Nice! That guitar sounds great! I been meaning to enter something, but I'm not even sure I've played a guitar for more than ten minutes straight since the twins have been born (they're 2 and a half now...) But the open mic here has inspired me to pick it up again... I may not make it this week, but next week for sure.
